First Reader Interaction Post! Vote for a Reward!
🕑 Added 2024-03-27 03:45:49 +0000 UTCUpdates are coming along well. I'm cooking up something a little spicy for next Monday. But for now, I finally get to do our first Viewer Reward Poll! I've always wanted a way to work some reader interaction into the story and with this extra week I've given myself to cook, I finally have the opportunity.
The Producers are looking to reward James. He solved his problem in a way that guaranteed half a dozen or more others, and that's the sort of go-getter attitude that SkinDimensional likes to incentivize. For his extraordinarily flashy and over-the-top battle with the Hungry Ghost, he was allowed to choose the theme for a Viewer Chosen Reward; James chose Base Upgrade.
Vote for what gets added to James' Harbor Hill Basement Apartment! I've chosen the following options with future scenes in mind. Clever readers will probably get a strong idea of what these scenes might include, but I won't give any more hints. Beyond determining future scenes, they also provide either general benefits or unique access into unexplored options in the System.
Included in all of these Rewards is a Deed to the Apartment and whatever gets added from the Producers. He's made enough problems for himself that they can feel comfortable removing making rent as one of them. Similarly, these options will be incorporated relatively smoothly into the Base.

That's actually a really good point about the yard training fitting the vibe of black city style. Fwiw, I don't think the pantry would just be Splinter, but also an opportunity to explore the food system, and perhaps some intimate cooking lessons from the lady across the road he shared the bath scene with.

The Private Dojo is likely the most in character option, but I really liked the more public nature of the out door practice ring, helps with the vibe of bringing the wuxia to the people he has going. The bedrooms are sexy time bait, but having the girls move in with him feels a bit too harem, rather then himbo, and I like the low commitment threshold the fic is running with, feels more real that James is a player, rather then then having the girls just there all the time pining. The garage doesn't interest me, and while I am interested in more Splinter action, I don't think the pantry is necessary for that. What it comes down to for me, is which expansion actually feels necessary, and a shrine/meditation set up would be improved by the privacy, you could get similar scenes in secluded spots around the city, but James apartment is run down enough that trying to shoehorn real spiritualization there would be a stretch.

That does make alot of sense. Perhaps also influenced by him trying to stumble through the qi awakening of his friend too, and as a way to help them both focus on that.

although I agree that the dojo is appropriate for the character (and I forgot about him ruining the gym when sparring in an earlier chapter) he does seem to be stumbling face first through the spiritual side of things :P throw his cautious side a win after that wild ride of a ghost chase! also while a dojo would be nice, the yard works fine for sparring especially as they get more resilient. get the meditation room and start working on 'being water' :)
