Haha - Gillian Flynn did largely draw from the Peterson case. The basic setup, surrounding events, and Scott's dispositions were big influences on the story.

I’ve seen countless videos and commentary on Cherry Panini in the past few months, but in my opinion, Matt’s video gives the best high-level summary of the case, while still presenting all the relevant facts. I think that Sherry’s sentence was way too lenient, but at least we have the internet to roast her ad infinitum & expose her for what she is — a low-budget Gone Girl with the foresight & planning abilities of a goldfish.

What really kills me is how stymied poor Keith is re: offering any supportive gesture. I mean, any husband during these interviews would reasonably put his arm around his traumatized wife, hold her hand, squeeze her arm, let her lean on him. It’s so obvious that Keith wants to do these things, and has tried to do these things in the past, and that he’s been rebuked so many times he’s afraid to even offer at this point. Poor bastard.

This was fantastic Matt! You nailed all the emotional subtleties between Sherri and Keith, and Sherri and the Investigators. I hope Keith is able to put up some emotional boundaries for his/their children so that Sherri can’t taint the kids’ lives with her sick-ness.

I’d like to send a personal shoutout to the Latinas in that area of CA who were subjected to random stops and searches by Law Enforcement all so that Sherri could go on the run and avoid her problems. I know two personally, both of whom have no criminal records, who had the displeasure of looking like imaginary kidnappers… I hope someone gives her the street justice she deserves based off that alone.

This was great, some notes (made as I watched): SPOILERS AHEAD!! * legit laughed out loud at 'Some Poor Dude'/the subtitles generally 🤣 * the unintentional racism when describing the 2 'Mexican' ladies (by her, not you) * waow she is annoying! * she doesn't seem even remotely traumatised, more mildly annoyed that all of this happened to her * 4 years?! How did she get away with this for 4 years?? * Maybe they backtracked on the 'sting' operation because they didn't want to spook her? * It's funny how relaxed Keith is, as he knows (or thinks he knows) Sherri hasn't done anything wrong * He is way more interested in looking at the photo/talking about it than she is * Parallel construction? they are pretending to have made the link to the table through a Facebook photo * His body language, Keith slowly becomes one of the interrogators (boxing her in) * Keith - "yeah, exactly!" - lol * her ability to come up with bullshit on the spot is impressive * They should have left Keith in the room with her for a few more minutes (maybe) * "the best lies are based on truth" - not always lol * "I know that there was no sex", Keith's body language instantly changes) * They are possibly trying to spare his feelings with the "no sex" comment * Keith moves further and further away from her * "Is that what you're saying Sheriff?" - lol * M1 MacBooks are so good, streamed this entire thing to my TV and went from 100% to 95%
