🕑 Added 2023-04-07 07:41:12 +0000 UTCUPDATE 28/04: Next video is coming along well, but unfortunately my target of end of April won't quite be reachable. The rough cut (basically the 99% final cut) should be done by about the end of this weekend.
There's been quite a lot of technical problems on this one though, so after the rough cut's done it's off to a professional for audio mastering, plus I've gotta add subtitles to what's going to be a fairly long stretch of interrogation footage.
If all goes smoothly I should be able to add the subs while it's being tinkered with by the audio guy and I'll be able to get it published first week of May.
I managed to get an interview with the lead prosecutor of the case too, which I thought was really interesting, so you'll get a cool bonus out of it too! Thanks as always for your patience :)

Another commentary on the first feature length to hold you over!
I give a bit of an update on the next feature at the very end of this starting at 1:02:53. Short version is I'm aiming for end of April. That's tentative, but if you don't see it uploaded here by then it should be very close.

David Prater wasn't the one voicing suspicion of the parents in the press. It was Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes:

I think "panties" is just a common catch-all for female underwear. I suppose it's not the most absolutely *formal* word you could possibly choose but it is just a very common descriptor. A lot of people get icky about it but I've never found it to be that big a deal, seems like people are just trying to find something where there's nothing. When i was a kid my underwear were called panties, as an adult my underwear is still panties. (I'm in Florida for reference)

Feels like a weird thing to write a comment about, but I do think it's not uncommon to call underwear "panties" with reference specifically to children. It's sort of a kid-ism as I interpret it, like calling a pacifier a "binky", so kinda weird to be in a conversation between two adults, but not super out of the ordinary.

Great as always. I remember this video took me a few tries to get through because the audio balance is so bad. I'm from Canada, but the use of 'panties' sounded totally normal to me.
