Her steps slowed until she was in front of his wide living room windows. They framed the distance between them like a painting. She peered out at her house. From here, it seemed like a dream she could never return to.
“You are the absolute fucking worst,” Sage continued, voice trembling as she leaned against the glass.
David lingered by the couch, fidgeting nervously. “Can I… get you something to drink?”
“Fuck you.” Sage snapped, eyes still fixed on her home.
"I think I need a drink," David said softly.

David cleared his throat quickly, nodding again. “I got it.”
“Good.”
She stepped back, her glare never leaving him. Then, with calculated disdain, she picked up her empty glass and threw it at his chest.

“I want your curtains closed at all times,” Sage said. “I don’t want to see your face from my house ever again.”
