Wow... that is fascinating. So you've worn these same patches then? We're practically band mates in whatever fictional universe this video exists in. I wouldn't have thought that these logos would still be representing groups still serving. My grandfather fought in the Korean war. I wonder if he would have recognized the logo. We got this and all of our props from Zap Props in Chicago. Which is essentially a gigantic warehouse full of potential props filmmakers might need to utilize. One worker there had knowledge of what the batches meant, but wasn't there at the time. So only later emailed us to with some basic info on them. I was unaware of what these patches signified outside of that they were definitely American.

Oh I wish :) that was the first idea for this. Play along to a backing track with someone who knows morse code on the telegraph communicating a secret message.

haha thanks Matt! I really like this direction too. Though this one wasn't even planned, the telegraph pedal just kinda feel into my lap. But this "using old equipment" genre I'd like to continue. Maybe not the bronze age yet though haha

So cool. Where'd you pick up the old school 8th Army Band patch/arc? For those who don't know, 8th Army (the Umbrella Corp-like logo) are one of the major US Army elements still serving in S. Korea ever since the war, and their band gets their own arc added to the patch to identify them. 8th Army was my first unit as a tubist and vocalist for the Army, so I couldn't miss that costume detail!

Great video. I'm sure there is a hidden message to be discovered when you play the music backwards and translate the telegraph-code into real words. ;)

Your historic experimentation is awesome I loved the wax one. I am just listening to this one, first not watching the video, it works in a weird way. Go WAY back in time.... errrrrrr logs and rocks, bronze age, etc. Be Good!

That makes complete sense. I think sometimes although music can be very expressive and allow you to explore yourself a fair old bit it's not always as fun as it could be. Seems to me you had a cracking laugh and to be fair I had one watching you. Cheers!

It's really great to be able to do both. I like throwing in a scripted backdrop for music videos from time to time to explore a more film making side of things. I'd say I enjoyed pretending to be an incompetent soldier more then the music this time around. Doing the one take videos can be a bit nerve racking on the music side.

Thank you! and yes it is. It's a pedal from Coppersound. They found me at the NAMM show in January and gave me one. Figured I'd be interested in it, and they were correct.

thanks! and maybe? I guess being able to tap a rhythm certainly helps here, but it's pretty simple so I'd imagine anyone who would be able to play the guitar part also wouldn't have any trouble with the telegraph rythms
