🕑 Added 2023-06-14 15:00:19 +0000 UTCAND ITβS DONE BAYBEEEEE!! After 3 long grueling days of sanding foam and huffing paint, I have finished Hobie Brownβs guitar from Across the Spider-verse!! Spider-Punk was my surprise favortie character in the movie, I new he was gonna be cool, but not the coolest, GOD DAYUM!! πππ
I wanted to make his guitar so bad, but trying to get any sort of clear reference from the film itself is next to impossible with the way Hobie is animated π Thankfully I found Jake Panian Art on Instagram, he uploaded some wonderful references of Spider-Punk and his guitar that he designed for the movie!! Thank goodness for references~ π
I honestly canβt believe that this started out as a big hunk of insulation foam board a few days agoβ¦ and I actually sat down and painted the whole thing in one sitting (minus the base coat π )!! I just had so much fun painting it, it was kinda like a puzzle trying to figure out which parts should layer on top of what. I was going a bit cross-eyed towards the end tho π³
Iβll be editing the YouTube tutorial video over the next couple days, and hopefully get it uploaded by the end of this week! π₯°π
And for whatever reason you crazy like me and wanna make your own guitar, I included the sticker sheets I made!! Most of them were grabbed and resized from Jakeβs post, but there were a few missing that I went ahead and designed myself (see the 2nd pageβ¦ Iβm so sorry theyβre cringe af but they are so small and covered in paint on the final product so itβs fiiiiine π ) They are designed to fit 8.5x11β sticker paper π

This is so cool!! Iβm looking to make one of my own with the help of this tutorial, do you think you could explain how you did the sizing with acrobat to get the accurate cut out of the guitar?

YOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! DOWN WITH THE SYSTEM, LIVE BY YOUR RULEZ!!πΈπΈπΈ This is so hype! When your inspiration hits, it hits. I'm excited to see when you do the full cosplay for Spider Punk. I'm sure you going to do it but it would be so amazing with each shot or every few shots you change the color background or aesthetic similar to the movie. The guitar looks absolutely amazing and you knocked it out in 3 days youre a gawt dayum masheen Akemi! πππ
