Your sim will walk up to the object, do a little animation and then the purchase menu will pop up. The objects don't move or anything but I still think it's nice that your sim will acknowledge the fridge/freezer.
I suppose this is also a good time to ask if there are any ingredients/ quick meal/ freezer foods you would like to see??? 😊
And if you're concerned about the polycount - it's actually lower than the get to work 'Corporate Fridge Raider Revenue Generating Cooler'! Always trying to help out fellow sluggish computers 😁
