Hi! Have you downloaded the off the grid recipe fix if you're playing off the grid? Do you also have the most up to date Homestead Helper downloaded?

Hi! I just downloaded this for my Ultimate Decades Challenge, and the issue as stated below in the past comments is occurring for me. So far it is only happening for the Pottage and Gruel, but it still sucks because those are the two easiest meals to make.

l'm also having an issue like above. Example, I can make pottage but not gruel....and they are in the same category. i also do not have the faster cooking mod installed that is mentioned below.

I downloaded this yesterday and keep having problems with it sadly. Every time I tell my sim to make a recipe, they get the ingredients but then get an error like something is in their way. I’ve moved things, downloaded the different stove, tried different items, and no luck. It’s also only showing the stews, broths, and soups and none of the other categories

I am also having this issue! I have updated to the most recent version of this mod and am still unable to cook things on the stove.

Editing my original comment — I was originally having issues with some of the medieval cookbook items. I decided to test each of my mods to figure out what the issue was. It turned out to be a “faster cooking” mod by sims4me that I didn’t realize I had installed. For everyone experiencing issues, I recommend really combing through your mods! The cookbook works by itself great and now that I’ve uninstalled the conflicting mod I have no issues. 💞

having an issue where sims will cancel the action and act like somethings in their way when cooking pottage and gruel (unsure of other recipes as of yet), tried moving the stove and counter outside and using other stoves but neither work!

Hi! I've updated this cookbook to fix an issue (unrelated to the game update tho) for stews and some pudding recipes. Other than that, both this cookbook and the homestead helper are working for me still after the game update. What issues are you having ? A lot of mods broke so perhaps another mod is causing a conflict for you?

hello!! it seems as though the mod as stopped working as of 8/29/25. Along with homestead helper! No pressure to fix it up quickly though :)

Hi sorry for the slow reply! Did you download the updated recipes? - www.patreon.com/posts/112997470 - Which cooking animation are you using? Do you by any chance have any other mods/cc such as custom hearths from other creators that may still use the old tuning?

Thank you for replying! I figured out the Homestead Helper issue... I completely missed the download additional stuff bit but have done that and my sims now enjoy freshly baked bread. However, the cookbook issue remains. I removed all mods from file, downloaded the new cookbook again, put it into the mods folder completely alone, only one file deep, and still the same issue continued despite no other mods being in the file and I created a whole new save to check it to make sure that it wasn't a bug within one of my older saves x

Hi! You need to delete any old mods from the olde cookbook kit including hearths and the sign post. Take out all other mods and then redownload the cookbook, animation, recipes and the homestead helper. Check the recipes with EA appliances/counters. It sounds like your game is missing/cant read important packages. How many folders deep do you have? The Homestead Helper will only have 'add to inventory' if you haven't downloaded any of the homestead recipes (bread, canning & homemade ingredients)

I love this, I have used Ye old cookbook for over a year but since last month been having issues. However same issues now with this, none of the pies work, they take the stuff out of the fridge and then leave on counter and only option is to throw away. Then the homestead helper just disappears or has "add to inventory" I've removed all other mods and created a new save but still the same issues. Any ideas please as I'm bored of playing with just stews which work fine :) Thank you for the best historical food mod ever though cause it truly is amazing.

Bread recipes can be made through the Homestead Helper, there is also a cheese recipe there too but ingredient recipes are ongoing :)

How to I cook homemade ingredients? I can purchase flour and milk but I don't see the option to make them into bread or cheese. What am I doing wrong?
