🕑 Added 2024-01-13 05:13:24 +0000 UTCRecent events have forced me to think deeply about what I've been doing and what I hoped to accomplish by investing time and effort into becoming an author. I sincerely enjoy writing, but I think we can all agree that I got a bit carried away by stretching myself thin and starting new projects in the hope that one would 'solve' the problems that have been plaguing me from the very beginning. I miss the days when I was passionate about EPIC and enjoyed writing on its merits, so I'm going to make one last effort to try and course correct before I either find a new path or take a protracted break to save money.
To make a very long story short, I'm tired of writing Fanfics. For those of you who have been around for a long time, you're likely well aware of this. But, more than that, I'm tired of all the drama that comes with writing romance and stories that ultimately become overwhelmed by things like sex and harem building. I have no problem with harems, and will likely continue incorporating them in my stories, but I want to write a story with a confident or reflective MC that is focused on overcoming a goal. I want to create original characters and a plot that has actual stakes, so here are the options. If you would like a story with a cold and somewhat emotionally detached MC, I can start on my rewrite of Babel. If you would like something a little more light-hearted but grounded, I have a story about a Traveler venturing out of a city that has been closed off from the world beyond since its inception. If you would like something dark and gritty, there is 'The Path' I published as my very first post. And if you would like something on the same level as EPIC, I have been planning an original variation of the story since before the original finished. Some of these novels may have romance. Some may even have harems. But I will not have them become a 'premise' within the story, nor will I allow things to get out of hand as I have in other novels. I'm sure some of you will be disappointed by that, but it's simply too tiresome...
Now that I've said that, allow me to point out that I plan to focus on this next novel for at least the remainder of this year. In other words, you can expect between 500-720 chapters. Though, if there's enough interest, I could conceivably write twice that amount. My motivation is greatly dependent on community feedback.

I voted for EPIC origins because EPIC is still the most epic of your stories -- and not just because of length. I also liked the start of the original with Babel, and frankly, even your other original whose name escapes me but the Goddess actually interacts with the MC. It is funny to see those changes in quests, and warnings if he screws this up or bores her. You could tone down things with the dwarves; but subtly going against the Goddess/flow by developing the relationship with his longest time companion until SHE doesn't mind it being monogamous or wants it that way would be kind of fun to see as he kind of thumbs his nose at the Goddess. Lastly, I would vote for the Path, making the assumption that it is related in some way to EPIC's "PATH"...

I voted for The Path because the way you have Multiversal Travel in EPIC be part of the story and not just some strange thing that God did with no explanation is unique and amazingly executed, and I am excited to see that explored again. I am definitely interested in Further Beyond because I enjoy happier, lighter stories, and I would have voted for both if I could. My personal ideal would be a mix of Multiversal Travel and exploration and travel, but this is your work and if you have a passion for writing it, then I will enjoy it. I'm excited to read whatever you write next.

Hey man, bummer to hear how you are feeling now since I absolutely love all your stories since I started reading when you were writing EPIC. I love your writing style and the attention to details, storytelling, romance and pacing. Compared to other stories it always felt more grounded and a lot more fleshed out. Also enjoy the multiple POV, thoughts & feeling growth aspects in your storytelling. As a fellow degenerate I do want to say I am fan of the…other parts , but I understand & agree with you about it becoming the focus and too much work to maintain a huge harem & give everyone screen time / relevance and not just become a footnote. I think having a lot less love interests does open up a lot more possibilities to focus on backstory, family background, character growth etc that you can explore. Combined with your storytelling I honestly think it could work. From other stories I’ve read around 5 harem members / love interests should be the max (is more my personal preference before it feels like becoming Pokémon). But I suppose having casual flings / moments also still fit with a small harem? You can always fall back to the trusty battle maids haha. I don’t know, I’m just a degenerate and wish my boy (the MC) the best wherever he is & goes XD I really do hope you keep writing and find back the spark you want/had with EPIC. To this day it remains my favorite novel. I myself voted for Babel simply because I also really enjoyed the few chapters you posted. It felt grim and real and sparked my interest straight away. Second choice would definitely be The Path, but that is 100% because you ruined weak-to-strong and multiverses stories for me with EPIC haha. So another massive story as that would also be amazing. The original variation of EPIC you mentioned also peaks my interest, but I don’t want you to start spreading thin again due to me just…liking everything you write hahaha. At the end I do want you to choose what YOU want. I enjoy all your stories and I will stick around for whatever your mind comes up with, but it should not be at the cost of your own joy /mental health & overall wellbeing.
