🕑 Added 2024-10-28 21:30:19 +0000 UTCFirst, I wanna say thank you to everyone who has been super patient and people who have unconditionally supported us since we went independent. Everything about this experience I am so grateful for. I love BFT and I love the community that we’ve built and Rooster Teeth was seriously the most fun and enriching experience of my life. I’ve never had a job where I could just let my creativity run free and have these concepts turn into a reality the way that they were able to at Rooster Teeth. With a production team and an editing team and support from our manager Santiago and everyone who we developed relationships with, it was incredible. Developing BFTV and thinking back on the whole process of finding our grounding and our niche, it was so fulfilling and I’m so proud of what it became and the videos that we made.
And I can’t forget to say that BFT would not be BFT without the amazing team we had around us and the team that continued to commit to BFT- Santiago has been there since day zero, Shane, our head of production really has made all our videos possible and make them look good too, Fisher has done so much in so many different areas from production to editing, Cat for helping run socials and organizing stuff, Brad for coming on and making insane graphics for us, Maya for cutting social clips, Glurb, who single handedly ran and continues to run the discord server… and my manager Jasmin for coming on and helping handle business and thinking long term and advocating for us… Jejuan, Hannah, Aida, Cody, Kamrin, Sarah, Kristen… Everybody who helped out with this project.
But the thing that kept BFT running was you guys, for watching, for supporting, for subscribing to the patreon, buying merch, keeping the community alive, I am so so thankful for all of you.
Best Friends Today was a project that defied all odds, creating this channel and beginning posting at Rooster Teeth during the last 9 months of its life was such sad timing. It shut down during a period of time where we had such great momentum and the videos just kept getting better.
Once it shut down, it was difficult to set up this new infrastructure and figure out what we were gonna make and where and how we’d make it. Things started to become mentally taxing. I don’t have many answers, and in some ways, I’m just as confused as you guys are. I can only speak for myself, and my own reasons for stepping away from the project. I realized that I had been neglecting my personal brand for over a year (@wahony). I had put so much into BFT, and I just thought it was about time I put myself first again. My own personal brand that I had been growing for the last 5 years, I had ditched. I was struggling to divide my creative efforts, and I’d rather make one thing that I feel is really good and put my everything into that, rather than dividing my creative juices and trying to still feel proud of them both.
As things stand now, I’m not sure if there will be any further uploads to this channel. We will likely be shutting down the patreon in the coming weeks. Thank you to everyone for being our best friends today.

First off, I think I’m the 69th comment so that’s nice. Second, holy FUCK I am so sad to see BFT go. Sincerely from the bottom of my heart, thank you everyone who made BFT possible. This channel was my main squeeze while I was going through some serious trauma in my life, BFT was a crucial source of comfort and laughter and I’ll always be grateful that I got to be here for the whole ride (especially that first week of yap city, damn that was wild). And if the channel stays up (pls pls pls) I’ll be rewatching BFTV until I leave this mortal plane 🖤🖤🖤

Thank you for everything you guys did. I’m very shocked you guys stuck with it for the amount of time you did and i’m very grateful to have been here since like episode 5 since you all had 5k subs. The channel was there for me when i needed it. I would watch anything y'all put out, whether it was filmed on a potato or had dogshit jokes, as long as Caroline was included. Anyone can be two young dudes saying dumb shit to be funny. That's basically what a podcast is. What made you special was Caroline saying existential crisis stuff in the background while y'all joked around her. Don't know why it didn't work out but *fuck* the controversy around Caroline, her videos were genuinely funny + artistic. Taylor Tomlinson is a bitch. Y'all were the three musketeers and I wish y'all never split up. Even though it didn't work out, don't give up. Just keep putting out videos and we'll keep liking.
