This episode had a ton going on. Aside from Dennis & Dee's crazy story, there were THREE movie spoofs happening. As several others have contributed, Frank was doing One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (which Danny De Vito was actually in, in a different role), with the Native American and the water fountain and the nurse made up to look like the nurse in that movie. Charlie was doing A Beautiful Mind, with the conspiracy diagrams. And Mac was doing The Secret of My Success (they even mentioned it, and its "oh yeah" soundtrack), occupying a vacant office and pretending to work there.

I saw the movie for the first time a month or so ago. This episode gets so much better after seeing that movie

I love how they are all "this is America, not some socialist country! We need free health care! That's what taxes are for!" It shows how truly ignorant they are because they want socialized medicine while complaining that they "they don't live in some socialist country"

Danny DeVito was in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and had the line "Hit me" while playing cards. One of his earliest roles. All of the psychiatric hospital scenes are a tribute to that.

Yes, the whole bulletin board thing with Charlie is a meme. Also, when he keeps talking about seeing the name "Pepe Silvia" every single day. It's generally believed that his illiteracy has him reading "Pennsylvania" as "Pepe Silvia". Every piece of mail would have Pennsylvania on it since they live in that state.

I like how they get a job strictly for health insurance benefits, and it is stressful enough to cause charlie to take up smoking. So dude puts himself through significant stress and smokes so that he has health care coverage...

I love all the smart-dumb jokes in this show. It's pretty much every episode. For example: charlie ranting like what has america come to, no free health care? What is this, a *insert multiple government systems that provide free health care* country or something?!
