Q: Does there come a time, when the current president sees the simultaneous threats to our nation's future security, health, wealth, environment etc., that he can legally impose martial law to delay the inauguration of his successor until such time that those threats have dissipated?

Concerning the president adjourning congress for the purpose of forcing recess appointments, what does the current case law look like for this, with article 1 section 5 and article 2 section 3? Is there an opening here for a president for force recess appointments, given the current Supreme Court?
