Hi Jake. Do you have a preferred strategy, when it comes to writing a guitar solo as part of a song? Supposing that the song is completely in just one key, would you always think about each individual chord in the progression as you play over it?
Got another one for you Jake. Any suggestions on lyric writing I.e when trying to write lyrics I just don’t know where to start. When I do get something down it just seems really cheesy. Would you recommend a mind map type of approach to getting ideas down and then trying to build off that. I also struggle with counter melodies when it comes to lyrics, I find it hard to not follow the rhythm of the guitar. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
