🕑 Added 2018-11-15 04:58:27 +0000 UTC I love runescape (more specifically og runescape which i played thru middle and high school), i love this clunky, rough, grindy, slooooow as hell game with every single fiber of my being, and ever since the mobile version went public a few days ago ive been back at it nostalgic about my highschool days playing it for like 2-4 hours a day before sleeping like a maniac, and now that you know i will totally understand if you wanna leave now cus BOY am i about to go into an insane tldr segment right now with such big found emotions rn that you wouldnt believeI decided to go with a look that i think my Runesape character has constantly, just a thousand percent tired, but at the same time happy and allways looking forward to their ultimate goal that they themselves dont even know yet, which all started with the mass murder of cows (and also poaching item drops when health was low) to both level up in combat and also get some cowhides to level up crafting to be able to access a bank to have the safest fastest route for mining to THEN level up mining to THEN sell everything i smelt for some serious profit to THEN get some equipment to do quests to THEN reach the pinicle of free players which is killing a dragon and getting some sweet sweet access to the best chest armor that free players can get (tho as far as i know some endgame stuff has been added which im kinda pumped to eventually get to in 3 years)
This descent into madness for a second time has compelled me to draw this as a doodle after my work for the day, hope you like it!

hello everybody, one of my biggest (and by that i mean the absolute biggest without a shadow of a doubt) gaming obsessions was runescape early on, to the point of going to school, think about runescape in school, comming back home to play runescape and then subsequently fail all my tests in school bcus i played too much runescape, almost flunking one grade at some point, 4 ish years later, 2 times scammed for all my items, 1 time hacked for my items, a fanfic that i turned into a book that got me past a whole year of literature class excent, i started to fall off it little by little when i discovered different mmos that my new fancy pc could run, but man that little bug never left me and that void of literally being able to do anything you want and be prosperous in that game i never got over i think, i leveled up just to play the quests, but my dad was a miner and smelter by trade, thats all he did, mine, smelt, sell, and ended up *way* richer than me haha.
And believe it or not, runescape is the thing that got me into drawing more stuff fulltime, drawing the different armors, my character looking all badass and shit
But why do i bring this up? well because a couple of years ago old school runescape got announced for pc, i booted it up just as curiosity, i heard the shitty midi main theme and i legit started tearing up, full on goosebumps of nostalgia and happiness, i played it for like two-three weeks-ish, since i had to make a new character i was like eeeh, i did some starting quests got the basics to level up every single skill available for free players, and i kinda fell off it again cus i at the time had an office job and a lot of games i wanted to play.
Fast forward to a few days ago when i opened twitter to the fateful "old school runescape mobile now available for everyone" and im right back IN BABY

I remember back in the way old days when I played. Only got so far before eventually I just ended up stopping, didn't survive the constant account hacks, scams, and grinding when I was a small little child who was still learning how the world worked. That and I was way too devoted to being a mage, spent so much money on runes I didn't need to...

i joined when there was rune essense, but when varrok, falador and lumbridge all looked the same colorwise and had the same guards haha, i also did the npc houses thing! i lived in falador in the house of the dude who eventually sold you deed for housing i think? the one right next to the furnace house, one friend lived in varrok tho i cant remember which specifically and one claimed the barbarian house where you could make clay stuff for crafting since all he did was making pies and killing goblins, i totally forgot about that haha, good times indeed

I remember being back in grade 5 and probably being the most hardcore if RS players in my school. Since we were all dumb kids who didn't know ti manipulate the market and we did not have a giant auction house to sell wares, even before Rune Essence Mining was a thing, I was the cool kid wirh a Mithril Scimitar, Addy Leggings and like, 10k. Level 66 was the coolest, and then being the stupid kid I was, traded an Addy 2h fir a Dragon's Cape thinking it was the coolest thing ever. I miss the days of chilling with my best friend where our characters were like, siblings in game, and also 'owning' NPC houses like the very fancy mansion in Varrock. Good times, with that game indeed. XD
