Joined up just for that "Mouth for War" preset...you NAILED IT, man!! Keep rockin'!!

Hey Ben, remember that lesson series you said you were going to to do on the "unsung heroes of shred?" (actually i came up with the idea), where you feature some riffs from players David DiPietro (TT Quick who taught Z.Wylde.... Doug Aldrich... Ronnie LeTekro????

I have struggled to learn the note names for roughly 10 years now. It's really held me back. i can figure out the notes but it just never felt natural and took me forever to find them on the fret bard. One 20 min video and im farther along than i have been ever with learning the notes on the board. This one lesson Uncle Ben you are the best you beautiful shreddy wizard!!

I’m not sure how to send you a message but my card got hacked and I had to change to another card for payment. Since my payment was due today, you probably didn’t get it. What should I do?
Ben Eller
yep, the tops of my ring and middle finger brush the strings quite frequently! It's so faint you never notice tho.
thormusique
Loved this, man! You made me think of this in more ways than I knew existed. Over the years, I've found that my grip is somewhere in the 'middle', between yours and just the tip exposed (heh). Also, I tend to use Dunlop Primetone 2mm for most everything. This has been my longest-running pick, which is saying a lot. If I'll only be a-strummin' (which is rare), I prefer the DP 1mm. I have also run the gamut of pick sizes (and shapes) over the years, and that's probably been the most surprising thing to me during my (long) guitar journey. The pick thang seems to be a never-fucking-ending quest, innit. I agree, though, that sound should always be Job 1. Cheers, mate!
adrian
hi Ben im just wondering as you use a closed fist does any of your fingers touch the other strings especially when playing the low e. when i try to pick downslating with a closed fist my fingers brush the string so i usualy have my ring and pinky touching the guitar and middle touching my index finger. also is you pick motion a side to side or a wobble of the wrist, thanks ......
JS
Hey Uncle Ben! I don't ask you for much but I'd love to see you break down the fills & solo for Crazy Train. My arm hands are struggling like a bag of methed-out raccoons with the blistering, chromatic fills at 2:16 & 4:11. If you help me out, I guarantee you a seat at my stepmom's next fried baloney fiesta!

Man, I’ve never messed with a Helix but I know a lot of dudes who love those things!
Ganesh Rao
Thank you for posting this (Turn up the radio)! My band has been talking about tackling this. Also, Uncle Ben, I don't have all the gear you have. I have a Helix Floor LT which cost me more than I'm willing to admit (more painful since they announced their new lineup) so any chance you can discuss settings in that unit for tone since so many people have one? You are the best!
Art
Hell yeah! He was so underrated!!

Hello Ben.I 'm looking for the punisher exercise. Is there any chance to have the tab?
Brad Boykin
Hey man I have seen your YouTube videos this is why you suck at guitar and have been trying to pick up tips and tricks. new metal player been trying to learn for a year now and thought patreon may help. Been using songsterrr and learning tabs like killswitch engage, end of heartache, my curse, trivium pull harder on the strings of your martyr, and as I lay dying. Can only play small riff segments mainly 2 note power chords. I am looking at how to play cleaner no extra string noise or muddy sounding playing. Would like videos on palm muting other strings and single note clarity with and without palm muting. Mainly play drop c thanks glad to be here! \m/\m/

Hi uncle Ben, Would you happen to have a tab for WW138 (ritual by ghost)

Always had problems with some of the chords for Hanoi Rocks - Don't You Ever Leave Me. How to practice the intro to Don't Stop Believing (always sounds messy when I try to increase the speed).
Neal Pickle
Hey Uncle B, Any chance you've done a Saigon Kick/Jason Bieler tutorial in the past? Or if not, would you ever be open to doing one? I'm an old g-player (late 40's) and have been playing since I was in HS, but finding good tutorials for some of J. Bieler's masterwork with SK is hard to come by. Songs such as "One Step Closer", "Torture", "Hostile Youth" and "The Lizard" really show off his penchant for the heavy chugs and the underlying melody(s), especially when the solo section sections hit. Anywho, would love to hear your thoughts on this idea. Thanks, Neal.

Weekend Wankshop #77 Backyard Porch Pickin'....love that lick.

Hey, Ben, what about 3 of them? 1. Ratt Way Cool Jr Lead solos, Same for comfortably numb and time

Yeah I noticed it when the song first came out that it was a chaotic mess. Here you can slow down what this guy did to play it note for note it you want. Sonically it's not my style of solo to play but here ya go. https://youtu.be/I-K2hgUXKJI
Ben Eller
here's the isolated track so you can hear the chaos a little more better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTHqB87esb8
Ben Eller
man.... I really don't know that there's any hope of accurately transcribing that one. It's soooooooo random and messy, save for a few licks. Pick as fast as you can and flair your fingers, it'll get you 75% of the way there!
Ben Eller
oooh that would be a wild one

Could you make a lesson for "Tender Surrender" by Steve Vai?
Anthony Joseph Lanman
Ben, have you posted, or have ever considered posting TABS for the "Cult of Personality" solos? I know you did a WW for the main riffs, but I'm looking for reliable tabs for the solos. Thanks!
Marc Johnson
Uncle Ben, many of us Gen X guitarists grew up with Great White, and a corresponding amazement at the talents of Mark Kendall. Since we recently lost Jack Russell, I thought it would be nice if you made a tribute video to teach us how to play the solo on Lady Red Light. If you found yourself compelled, you might even hit the high spots on several of Mark's riffs on Once Bitten. *curtsey
Jim Woodard
Incredible good song! Forgot about that until you just posted it. I sing that at karaoke once in a while.
Jim Woodard
Uncle Ben, long time fan, first time request: Could you please take a look at the solo for the full version of "Radar Love" by Golden Earring? I've got the whole song, and all the riffs, but there's a couple spots in the solo that's kicking my butt. Could you help a poor over 60 dude who's been doing this a long time get through this step-dad tune? If not, another solo that for some reason has no tab out there: the ultimate yacht rock classic, "Love Will Find A Way" by Pablo Cruise.
Chris Corke
Theres some amazing guitar playing in Saga ,its done so well .Thanks again Mr.Uncle Ben for the gamechanger tutorials, so so grateful for them

Chris Corke
Thank you ,thank you Mr.Uncle Ben for these amazing lessons so very grateful.

Ben, I have followed you on YouTube for quite some time now. I finely joined your Patreon site. Don't ask me what took so long. A dollar for an intro level subscription is outstanding to say the least. you are also the first of any Paid subscriptions I have ever had. Thank you for all your efforts with your channel. I have learned more from watching your videos than any other method I have used in the past for learning the guitar. You sir have made me More Better! Thank you for what you do.

Would it be possible to compile all the tabs together as a single zip file (as other content creators have done) for us to down load and have access to all the tabs, please.

Didn't know where else to post this question on here, so.... Curious if anyone here has used Moises PRO for track iso? I subscribed to the "premium" version a few days ago & it does a pretty good job but leaves quite a bit of artifacts in the generated stems (especially in the bass) . Just wondering if the PRO level does a better job & if it is worth the extra $. PLEASE let me know if you have any experience with it. Thanks

this sounds like a great FAQ You question!!
PhantomLord
Wassup Mr.Eller i have a question when i play mainly Metallica stuff and noticing recently that i hold my pick differently if im alternet picking, downpicking or doing clean sections. For example when playing dyers eve i have more of a closed hand style holding my pick but for something like creeping death i need to have all my fingers out stretched in order to play it. There is an issue is for when the songs changes between alternate and downpicking it takes me a second to change my grip. What would you recommend to relearning my pick grip after about 5 years I’ve been doing this. Thank you man since using 3-4 of your warmups im able to downpick faster than i ever could!!
Ben Eller
Hey buddy! Haven’t posted it yet, I’ve got a super messy kitchen that’s driving me crazy hahaha… I’ll hose it down, then I’ll be posting an extended + ad free version of the video, the TAB, the practice tracks, PLUS the Mastering 4’s Patreon exclusive! Hang tight!

What about Guitar Pro files for every episode?
Andrew Wilkinson
Then followed by b and c notes sounds well harmonic minor , as I like blues but have heard it all before a million times , so I change
Andrew Wilkinson
Thanks for reply ,yes I will check out that solo tab app, I just like the interesting note choice ideas such as using the third being g sharp jamming from from e7 , even a beat after the change as it leads to the next chord being an A minor , then hitting the root in 'A ' kinda giving it the harmonic minor sound , but whilst playing blues /rock in either aeolian or blues scale pentatonic , I seem to find things out by accident ,
Ben Eller
hey dude, this biggest thing to focus on is what do those notes mean in relation to the chord they're being played over; if a note is in the scale but its not sounding good at that moment, its probably because its clashing with a note thats in the chord. For example, if i was playing an A minor scale against an A minor chord (which contains A C and E), if i played an F note and stayed on it, it would sound pretty rough because that note isn't in the chord. But sometimes playing a not that isn't in the chord can be really neat and interesting! But always start with the chord tones as your basis and you'll never go wrong. Also, i would totally consider checking out the app called "Solo" that Tom Quayle just put together, it will help you a lot!
Andrew Wilkinson
Hi Ben if you read this , as I'm sure there's hundreds of posts all the time , I have been going out of my way to play improv without using the two most boring notes against a chord being the root and 5th, i find , 6ths , flat 7 9ths minor 3rds the 4ths seem to yield results that sound on the more sophisticated side of the force , then I'm putting those notes together example in 'a' minor using notes b c d e f g, using the root and 5th only very occasionally , certain intervals amongst the notes I'm using seem to work great others totally suck , do you have any online lessons on this approach ?to hopefully gain a few insights from ? , im using your drone tracks to improv against , then looping one chord two chords etc to improv against , and i find I'm playing if i analysed it in between major , minor keys as im following chords around avoiding roots and 5ths but that really seems to work at times , Hopefully someone's done this before a bunch of times , and i can copy and paste , or at least have a good direction to head in , to not be wasting hours of my practice time ..
Steven DeLuca
Awesome that you’re working on putting the pre-patreon stuff on here, instagram is crazy!

I really want to find the WW7 Megalodon Megalick and the tabs for your Weekend Wankshop Intro - episode escapes me.

for those looking, GP(x) is a Guitar Pro format - Ben mentions this on a few videos I found today, unfortunately, it appears Guitar Pro is $69.95. I found an older freeware app called TuxGuitar which I installed in Windows and it appears to load the .gpx files ok -> https://sourceforge.net/projects/tuxguitar/postdownload
JS
This question is absolutely better served waiting for the next call for FAQ questions, but I'm incredibly dumb and will forget by then. A few years ago, I switched over to playing a hollowbody, single-cut Gretsch and when I'm playing on the dusty end I've had to do some contortions with my thumb to hit the highest frets. And it's led to some bad habits where when I'm moving up the neck, I noticed I'm leaving my thumb anchored and moving the rest of my hand as I climb the neck because, as I stated above, I'm very dumb. So the question really is what's the best way to break bad habits that creep in like that other than just stopping and smacking your thumb with a rolled-up newspaper? It's very invonvenient in the middle of a tricky phrase, and really, thumbs tend to respond better to positive reinforcement anyway.
Paul Jenkins
Just signed up, what format is the .gpx files? GPX is a GPS data format for software applications used to describe waypoints, tracks, and routes. What are they when you post them Ben? :)really not sure what to load them up with :)

Uncle Ben, could you possibly tab the live versions of Hysteria by Def Leppard? I know the album used 11 different guitar tracks but I would like to see tabs on how Phil and Steve (later Vivian) play that song in concert. Thank you kindly sir.
Jason Blochowiak
I think a LOT of y'all misread Ben's message - he said he's providing an index to easily find the TABs already here using #tags... he wasn't asking which TABs you'd like to see in the future (at least in this message). I'm guessing he doesn't mind the future requests, either, but that's just a guess.
