Would also like a lesson on your delay and reverb settings for this lesson

Excellent delivery and so humble! Love your teaching and playing. I thought Eric Johnson was all fast pentatonic until I watched this. It gave me new respect for home. He should pay you for marketing!
JS
This riff makes most of your stepdad's dance with delight! Three thumbs up for this more better post
Chio
Awesome job man. Nailed it
John Bradbury
Hi Ben, I really enjoyed this format. Mostly because we can all follow your approach / workflow to โlearningโ something which we can also try / adopt / modify for ourselves. Thank you. Do another again soon please!
Wonker
Wow
Michael French
Yes, Ben plays it correctly but the tab is wrong. Should be the G there instead of the F#.
Cormac
This is super fun and helpful! Feel free to do the rest of the song too :)
MrTriggerhappy
Love the video Uncle Ben. It's reassuring to see that even Shred Lords still struggle sometimes. This one has prompted me to go back and listen to the original G3 album.
Felix AP
What about the picking for the first notes? :) I hit first two notes with downstroke then start with a upstroke on the 15th fret and pick it all alternate which means the bend on 15th fret B string is also on an upstroke. That way I dont end up in a Snow (Hey Oh) picking pattern. But its still kind of awkward.
Dave Decker
Hey Ben!!! Great video!! Eric is a beast, but youโve got this!!๐๐ Can you tell me the amp and effects you used for this video? Your tone was pretty damn sweet!! Rock On ๐ค๐ค
Paul Davis
Ben, that was soooo good! Would love to see you continue along with this song so we can learn the whole thing. Pretty please??
Christopher Marion
Would love to see more of these strataversary cold learn vids! Maybe SRVโs version little wing? Jimmyโs Machine Gun or Killing Floor? Songs that are still epic, but maybe not with a million different lesson vids on YT
Matt Womack
Couldn't agree more, Pete. I had much the same experience
Chris Wright
Ben, I dream to be a more better guitarer and Iโm ashamed to admit that despite watching G3 Live in Denver some twenty years ago, big EJ has not really been on my radar until this year. Holy sh*t d*cks; he is the master. Lonely In The Night is on constant rotation in my house too. What a tune. Cheers from England ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ

Hi Ben, thanks for the lesson. Such a great intro to get into things I normally wouldn't practice. Small thing I noticed on the TABs. Right before the last note you play 3 times 16-14-17-14-17, yet tab says 16-14-16-14-17. That Flat G was throwing me off. Not a big issue after you pay attention to the video. Cheers!
Matt Martin
Eric should be ashamed for crafting something so challenging.
Pete Mitchell
I've been working on this song my whole life, it feels, and your video was so helpful. Can you also do the outro lick? lol
Christopher Marion
showing up for me now! I was on the web. not sure what the deal was
Randy Craig
Itโs the one song that says the pentatonic minor doesnโt have to be blues. Heโs a wizard. And Iโm glad you chose him.
Ben
Do you have a preset for the FM3?
Thom Marz
For me some of the spread triads in the middle section are a lot easier if I use the G string instead of the D string for the root note.
Thom Marz
Great lesson and as always hilariously entertaining ๐คฉ

Woah! Phenomenal days work. I shall begin my EJ journey.
Ben Eller
OLAF, METAL!
Ben Eller
so glad to hear that!
Ben Eller
i'm so glad to hear that! like i said in the video, this just was NOT possible when i wasn't aware of his technique set.
JP
BERSERKER ! YEAH ๐ค๐ค
Todd Nichols
I'm glad you chose this over my Pink Floyd suggestion. I think most of the Floyd stuff is relatively easy to learn. Seeing you work through this was incerdibly informative. I love seeing how you work on some of the parts. In some cases it validates my own attempts and in others gives me new ideas. Thanks!
Matt Womack
I hate those bendies....I dont know how he gets that specific phrasing so fluidly...but, that's why he's EJ and I'm living in your mom's basement I will say though: I learned this song from an "official" tab book way back when and it literally wasn't until this morning that I finally understood how he econ picks this stuff. your deconstruction and explanation makes a WORLD of difference. Thank you!!
Ben Eller
Hit that โcliffsofdovertabโ link below the video on here
Shawn T
dont see the tab? the outrage
Gregg Burns
Always wanted to learn this. You da best Mr Dover, Ben.

I was driving across rural northern Idaho for work one time and I was pacing a Train next to the road, and someone had wiped onto the fuel tank "Men's Asses"... Glad to hear someone else say it!
Joe McKenna
Menโs asses lol youโre showing your age, uncle

Men's asses has me dead still ... ๐ ๐คฃ ๐
Neil Goldberg
Yeah, I learned it and played it on my channel and it took me forever to get it down and never sounded like him
Festermooth
I haven't given up on many songs over the years, but this is one of them. Mostly because that first 1.5 step bend will make your ring finger feel like you've been playing a cheese grater with strings after a few billion attempts.
Paul Webendorfer
Oh, and I totally neglected to vote for the Strat song... would still love to see Little Wing and Comfortably Numb.
Paul Webendorfer
Lol, the 'Ben Dover' patch! Not sure I'm comfortable downloading this one. :)
Kasper Beuse Fauerby
Yeah, I'll have to file this one under the "I wish, but not gonna happen..." category! At least I recently got myself an Axe3, so I guess I could download the preset and play around with some nice tonez ;) Maybe take a stab at that very first lick...
brenda borgosano
Thanks so much Ben! I've been off my game for a bit and this is exactly what I needed to bring me back. Much appreciated!
Shreddy McGuire
Hell yeah. The intro is a masterpiece, I've taken many swings at it over the years. Maybe this will be my hour
