I just realized three things: 1. I already pick like this. 2. This apparently isn’t normal. 3. Why after a three hour gig the skin on my picking hand index finger directly under my finger nail is always shredded after a gig. I slant in so much that that spot tends to drag the string below the one I’m picking all night.

I'm new and I'm digging into all this content. A lot of good stuff here Ben. I think I'm a natural pick slanter because I feel like I get the best tone that way, but I'm definitely going to go through this. I could always get better at it.

As always amazing content, uncle Ben. But I have a question. I am an intermediate player and have difficulty deciding on what type of pick to use. Over the last year or two I’ve used a jazz three and find it comfortable. But now I want to tighten up my playing and I would like to know what pick will give me the most flexibility for rhythm and lead. Thanks.

love the House shirt! I have a similar one. This was insanely helpful. I've never had a way to actually practice any of these concepts. I kept thinking "at higher speeds, it doesn't feel like my pick is 'escaping' really". Just having someone say something simple as "the faster you go the more subtle the movements get" is really helpful and at least lets me know I'm on the right track.

Bad ass lesson uncle Ben ! I’ve had to rewire my brain worm to get two notes per string for 7th arpeggios and pentagramonics under my fingers. It’s taken a while. Love this lesson. The cult is glorious!
