YouTube Kerfuffle

The basic rundown is this:
-I created my YouTube account with my college email
-Said college basically told us "this account is yours to use for whatever you need to for the rest of your life" when we graduated
-College suddenly can't continue their deal with Google that gave us unlimited Google Drive access, along with all the bells and whistles it came with
-Every graduate then needed to make sure they could safely abandon their school email address and transfer all emails/accounts to a new Gmail of their own
-I actually did this and made sure to transfer the vast majority of all accounts using my student email to my new one.
-Youtube has this thing where you can add "owners" onto a channel. Each channel has a "Primary Owner" and can have any amount of secondary owners
THIS is where things get shaky.
-Even though I set my new email as an "owner" on my channel, the "Primary Owner" status is apparently non-transferable under the college's administration, and so I could not make my new account the Primary Owner of the channel. If the Primary Owner's account is deleted, so is the channel and access to the other channel owners.
So yeah...Gotta start my YT from scratch, so there might be a lot of dead links to things here on Patreon. Sorry about that!

It is what it is, I should've known that my college account wouldn't last. They gave us plenty of warning that it was going to happen, but no warning that you couldn't simply transfer ownership like normal YT channels could do. It was honestly a good thing for Murphy & Mitzi though, restarting my channel got it way more views which I'm really grateful for. Most of the "lost" stuff here on Patreon was just the old links to shorts that have been reuploaded, along with some in-progress versions of animations. I should start doing that again tbh.

Damn, so this is why there is so much lost art. I'm sorry for the loss. I hate technology kerfuffles, I try to clear of them myself.

Thank you very much, this comment is very nice :) The good thing is that I switched my email for nearly everything else with no problems. YouTube was just the one that gave me trouble.

I've just read your tweets... may be a little cumbersome but at least you have your channel back It's of course still a pity that your old channel could not be saved but with a little patience you will soon again have as many subscribers as before :) Only for the comments and views it's a pity Maybe it's even better if you don't upload everything at once because that could be stressful :) I hope the loss of your email address doesn't affect other things like streaming subscriptions or access to gaming accounts aswell Hopefully now everything will turn to the good because seriously all this crap you really don't deserve :( I keep my fingers crossed for you in any case

Thanks. Yeah it's genuinely baffling there isn't a better way to work this out, but at the very least I'm glad I can at least close the old account.
