Loved the contrast between this chapter and the last. You get to see Max getting thrashed and thrown into the dumpster (from his perspective) by the entire footballing world, but then, here, we see his long term relationships paying off in a big way. Have to make some haters to find some lovers, no? Henri would probably say something like that if he could read the doomladen thought process of Max.

The thing with goalkeepers scuffing up the penalty spot and getting right up in the penalty kick takers face, is that not just a lower league thing? Does that actually happen in the top divisions??

I loved the lack of tension in the chapter (weird thing to say, i know), but the early release of doubt made it so I could just relish in the beatdown

This chapter felt like a party in print even before the actual party started. Beautiful atmosphere and great subtle tension with the Braun negotiations (or at least I felt subtly tense).
