My take is that he's talking himself out of it. The 7 year lifespan was regarding Korean boy bands, he had this shock a while ago, life would be better if it keeps going, etc. But in case it does happen it's also perhaps part of why he's trying to do a consolidation season. If it does fail him, he'll be in a position to leave Chester less out at the edge of their abilities.

Pretty much the "Best" quote from "The Wire" is when Omar is on the stand and says. "I got the shotgun, you got the briefcase. It's all part of the game though, ain't it?" I can't wait to see how Max will mangle it, and get it to apply to football. Maybe to praise Brooke or MD. Fully prepared to be wrong though.

Is it just my brain being porous as usual, or do we not know why Max doesn't believe in the 7-year curse lifespan (he seemed pretty convinced when he found out about it and I can't remember anything to change that)? 1500XP is basically nothing for him at this point (especially since he doesn't really want to play in these games), so him waffling about the perk doesn't work for me. He's also made frequent use of the once-a-game activated perks, so he should be predisposed to jumping at it. Yeah. I think that's where Ted is kinda screwing himself, since it's becoming kind of predictable. I smelled the draw coming from the moment the match layout/plan was presented a couple chapters ago. Wouldn't have been surprised by a loss either. Now we'll get two tense games, Chester will either win one of them as an upset or the other teams screw the pooch. Chester gets to the playoffs and then *surprise* makes it to the Prem despite Max' doomsaying. Because, let's face it, while a consolidation season would be realistic, it wouldn't make for entertaining reading.
