Pretty close. I read that part of the reason human brains are the way they are is because they spend a lot of processing power predicting how other humans would react to your own actions in social situations. So in this case the AI is piggybacking on that process and directing the user's brain to imagine what the person they are talking to would say. The user is subconsciously writing the script.
