This is what I was thinking we know it can alter a personality and now it shows that if you disconnect too quickly (like to a power failure) you can be stuck with fragments of that character. This being with a non-hacked released to general public who might sue you version. Imagine what the government agencies and criminals have access too.

The potential for mental changes makes me wonder if people use these programs to intentionally brainwash themselves, or just max out the settings so that when they unplug, they're just like "Hmm? I appear to have somehow been placed into the body of an Earth hoo-min from the 21st century, oh dear". Personally, I'd want to experiment with long-term usage, using it for hours or days at a time, trying to 'sync' with the personality intentionally.
