So if Felix gets control of Jess' body without Jess mentally present, and he tries a tomato sandwich, would his brain still like the taste, would Jess' taste buds tell his brain the tomato is disgusting, or would it be a mix of both?

I'd say they'd taste gross if they actually taste gross to her as its her taste buds and body. On the other hand if its some remnant from childhood where she didn't like veggies and hasn't eaten them since because she remembers them tasting gross as a child they might be fine.
