Technically, Lisa should be 'waking up' at the same time as Fiona, but that over-complicated the dialogue, so I'm just going to hand-wave her waking up later without an explanation of what real Lisa would have experienced while her avatar was unconscious. (A loading screen perhaps?)
Anyhow, sorry about the super-late incomplete update!
I moved last Friday and it was a lot more chaotic than I expected. Not only was there the complication of moving with a baby involved, but our new place, of course, came completely un-baby-proofed!
That said, our new place is great, but full of boxes to be unboxed, and missing things waiting to be found, but luckily I have some time off work get our new place organized.
But I think for the next week or two, I'll be uploading Being Fiona in black & white, and then hopefully finding some time later to color in these strips.

I don't think Felix was unconscious at all. I think it was a trick to fake the sensation of just waking up from having been unconscious but without actually losing consciousness. A few moments of fake unconsciousness could be covered up by disorientation. If so, the illusion would be broken if it made the actual time spent unconscious longer than a second or so because then you would have time to try to move despite the disorientation and would remember being conscious and unable to move.

If Felix spent a few seconds "unconscious" but feels as though he might've been out a while, couldn't Lisa just experience the same thing, just the real amount of time being slightly longer?

That could work!

I like to imagine that while your character is unconscious, you would be shown a scene of cartoon sheep jumping over a fence while some of them stand bipedally in front of the fence (while still being 100% sheep, not anthropomorphic) and do a silly childish dance. And above it all is clouds forming the words "please wait, your character is unconscious"
