Something I left out, that I may still include when I finish the shading, is to show Craig summoning the sword in his hand. In the early strips of this comic, I had Craig walk around with his sword in his scabbard, but then Fiona has her staff appear and disappear from her hands as she needs it. I figured I'd do the same for Craig's sword. So, yeah, I agree that Craig wouldn't have had time to pull his sword from his scabbard, and the angle would have been all wrong too. But if he can summon it in his hand, and maybe even summon it like a light saber, stabbing Fiona as it appears, it works better.

He is holding Fiona with both arms, therefore he would have had to release her and draw his sheaved sword and stab her. The sword is too long to have performed those actions without Fiona noticing. It would have been better for Craig to have stabbed her with a dirk or knife.
