Hi Family.

After I came to CA for Thanksgiving, that Saturday night I started to feel really sick. We went to urgent care when i woke up on Sunday because my tonsils were massive and white and I couldn’t swallow. I ended up having two ear infections, both perforated ear drums, (one of them was bulging and the other had a ton of mucus inside my ear drum) and severe strep throat.
I was due to come back Tuesday night, but I was getting worse by the day. I have only eaten 1 reeses peanut butter cup and a hawaiian bread roll in 4 days. It was getting really dangerous and my skin was turning grey. I got a bunch of IV antibiotics and steroids and was put on the strongest antibiotics possible.
Today (Friday) is my new flight. I’m probably 4% better than I was at my worst, but I will not be contagious anymore and already paid $400+ for a new flight. I’m going to try my best to tough it out and get my ass home to my fiancée and puppy.
I’m so sorry for going MIA, I have been really really sick and sleeping 24/7. As some of you know I am very much immunocompromised, and this is the first time it has really shown 😂 I can’t seem to recover from this and it’s making me a little afraid.
Please keep me in your thoughts and wish me some good luck to travel home in one piece. ♥️

ps- for those who asked if my name is Ky or Nicole, it is Ky. BUT my Papa always wanted me to be named Nicole (my middle name) so he called me Nicky. so please call me whichever name you prefer! they are all perfect ☺️

Hi, I was the one who asked you about your name. After hearing that short but heartwarming lil story, I think I'd like to call you Nicky if thats still cool with you. I have fond memories of a friend I lost named Nicky, so I've always had a soft spot for that name. The only other KY I know is from The Vampire Diaries and he was an asshole. Sorry your health keeps coming back to bite you in the ass. I spent 6 months in the hospital last year due to renal failure which cascaded into multi-organ shutdown, and a coma. So I can sympathize and I wish you the best. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Not to mention I'll drink a few tequila shots, and margaritas to ya. ~ mas tequila ⚘️

That sounds absolutely terrifying, I can’t even imagine having to go through all that. Please know that none of us would ever blame you for going MIA for some time. If people do they’re either unaware of your health issues or fucking morons. The most, and arguably only, important thing is that you’re safe and healthy (and happy ofc.). The rest can wait!
