It's hard to know how else to interpret someone feeling like they need to explain the core concept of the way the patreon has always operated for years. That suggests you've assumed a level of ignorance, stupidity, or petulance on another person's part. If that's sincerely how you have fun and interact with people, you need to put more effort in. And frankly? That's giving you the benefit of the doubt, because you've been acting condescending to people for ages, and then made excuses for it that boil down to 'I'm too lazy to put effort into how I communicate, and that's everyone else's problem if they don't like it.'

It's actually much simpler. In the US, (and recently accepted by SEGA Japan) Robotnik is the family name name being Dr. Ivo Robotnik, and "Eggman" being a nickname. So a female Robotnik would be "Dr. Ova Robotnik" and a likely nickname is "Tamago-chan" or "Tamako".
