I've been having to come up with outlines for comics for over 30 years now. So... practice. The major ingredient is MOTIVATION. deciding what the characters want out of the encounter/interlude helps the whole thing write itself.

Not too sure you’ve already answered this, and I’ve always wanted to ask, but how do you go about thinking up the stories for these comics? Do you already have the full story for each of the finalist by the time the winner has been made? Or do you come up with a basic plot for all the finalists and when the winner is Chosen kind of play by ear from there?
