In each nomination period, about 30-40 different series are nominated (of which 25 are included in the voting, due to system limitations). Is there nothing *better* of these to vote for? LOL Maybe it would really be better if only titles of series were nominated instead of pairs and Doc would decide the pairs, so maybe more people would vote for other series as well...

If you were truly about to celebrate it, you wouldn't be complaining about it and asking for intervention on what the community has been choosing of their own free will. Point to Note: Its very interesting that since the month of May, we've gotten six stories, one of which was colored. Of those six, three of them have been Patreon Goof Offs and all three of those PGO's have been original stories. It would seem that complaints of sequelitis only come in from the masses when its centered on subjects that they aren't particularly interested in. Imagine. . .

Thatâs the point thoâŠif they actually where better suggestions then they would be voted for, just because you may think a suggestion is better obviously doesnât mean the majority agree with you, so we swing back to âmake better suggestionsâ keep trying new pairings and ideas and eventually the masses will click onto somethingâŠor just do what I do support good ideas and always vote for Docs choice (thatâs the easiest way to get new ideas moving).

"Make better suggestions" is often said here. Well, a lot of people do just that: they nominate a lot of new series and new characters. But in the end, almost no one votes for them. But I accept that this is the will of the majority, I'm just sad about it. I also agree and I know this well that the majority stick to the things they are used to and this may not change. I was just expressing my sadness about it, which is a right for anyone in this community. Furthermore, criticism is never aimed at Doc, because he gets the most out of all his work!

I agree (speaking as someone who would generally fit your assessment as someone lacking a "rich imagination", at least where these polls are concerned); I may not always enjoy the popular choice, but I'd like to think I don't begrudge them just because they're popular. And to be clear: it's just the choice itself I don't always enjoy; the Doc's implementation of said choices have not disappointed.

So here are a few thoughtsâŠcomplaining about sequels is pointless, look at voting in general, the âincumbentâ has always been a favorite because people like the familiar it usually takes something dramatic to cause people to vote for something new. When it comes to new ideas here most people here donât have a letâs say ârich imaginationâ so they are not good enough to draw in the votes, you want new characters then make better suggestions. Donât bitch and gripe or call people names because you are not getting what you want. At some point things may change, but that is solely at the discretion of the Doc. He has designated the top 22 slots for Patreon and 3 slots for Subscribstar , if you dislike how things are done here I have good news, no one is forcing you to be here, much like a voting democracy you are free to do as you like, stay and vote or leave. There are some of us here that have been here a very long time, supporting whims and poor ideas without ever getting a âwinâ that we enjoyâŠyet here we still areâŠwhy? Because at the end of the day we are supporting the doc and his art.

Basing it on the amount of support would be a better, more fair system but could potentially take up more time than the BootyDoc has available. Though it is something that could be looked into as an option (I, myself, have just given it a quick try and have an idea how to do it in short-order, though - again - perhaps longer than he has free)

Likes and multiple seconds have always been meaningless since this Patreon's inception and there would be no real way to prevent such a system from being abused if such a system was implemented.

At that point it becomes a simple popularity game, one that can be easily manipulated. There used to be a time when it wasn't just the 1st 25 nomination with seconds. Used to be that it was based on *when* nominations got seconded. Time Stamps were a huge factor. Unfortunately, it was incredibly time consuming, so it had to be scrapped for the greater good of his sanity. He's doing all this on his own, in addition to all the other obligations he has, after all.

I'm with everyone here suggesting that sequels in general need to have a cooldown, but I'm also thinking that the suggestions he picks shouldn't just be the first 25 he gets. He should also consider the ones with the most likes and seconds. Otherwise, what's even the point of those?

Doesn't Doc only select the first 25 suggestions he gets? It doesn't feel very democratic to me. And what's worse, it renders the liking and seconding of suggestions meaningless. This system he's got in place is just broken.

I'm glad that after 6-8 sequels, a character/series will be benched, so that after that there will be another character/series that can be continued until nosebleeds... I understand that this is democracy, but if you have the opportunity to vote for the same characters/series over and over again, then this community will do that, and it will also get boring for a while. BUT, as I wrote above, I accept that this is the will of the majority. I genuinely wonder when a brand new topic will finally be voted on... We are also paying patreons, and complaining is also part of democracy and free speech! And I think sequels could be put on hiatus as well.

Gregorio, this is something that is already in effect, hence why you haven't seen much Autobutts; People literally could not decide on a pair they wanted to see once Jack Darby and Arcee were benched as available characters. Any characters that appear too often eventually get benched for an extended and undetermined amount of time. Link from the Legend of Zelda and Deku from My Hero Academia are actually both coming up on their mandatory benching after another 2 appearances for the both of them.

You know, all these comments bitching and moaning about sequels is really becoming old hat and tiresome. If that's what the majority of the community is interested in seeing, then that's what the community will select. Its the essence of democracy and the way The Doctor chooses to run *HIS* Patreon. At the end of the day, he's the one that ultimately has final say on how things are done. Complaining in the comments ad nauseum will more than likely make him want to interact less with us rather than more. I think we should all just let democracy do its thing. If people are so unsatisfied with the pairings, then more effort needs to be made to put forth compelling nominations.

I support the idea. However, it is not necessary to put entire series on hiatus, rather only those characters who are constantly appearing in the given series. (Though I have a feeling that not many people will like this whole idea.)
