Upcoming Nomination Changes

Alert:
There won't need to be a preliminary poll.
There will be no need for a 2nd to a nomination.
All you need to do:
All that anyone needs to do during the nomination phase from here out is make ***ONE REPLY POST*** of what male/female pairing they would like to see for that month in the nomination thread.
Details:(Read if you have questions or concerns)
What I will do:
I will go through each and every nomination for that month and only consider the first one each nominator makes. (If someone made like 3 or 4 nominations, I'm totally ignoring the extra ones.)
From all nominations, I will choose
four pairings I would like to work on, and four that have never been worked on before
(For example, I've never had a topic with She-ra before, but if it's She-ra and Deku, --hmmmmmm---<3(that one is interesting...) If it's She-ra and Deku, it won't go into the 'never-been-done-before' section.)
The topic vote will then be those eight topics.
I will go through each and every nomination made by the deadline from both Patreon and Subscribestar. I'll make a summary post describing all considered posts and even comment on the ones that almost made it(sometimes... there may be 4 sure winners that get instantly picked.)
What you DON'T need to do.
No need to get into it with anyone about their post. If they make a weird nomination that breaks the rules it won't even get considered. No need to comment on it.
Purpose of this change:
Hopefully, this will reduce the friction on the nomination page.
This will also give never-before topics a chance to show up.
I will be able to voice which topics really excite my interest, but my picks won't totally dominate the process. These aren't just "My topics". These are four of my favorites from the topics that were nominated AND four topics that haven't been given a chance before.
[PS] Finally some advice.
Post what you want to see that month.
Even if it was posted by someone else.
Because something might have been off.
They might have made like 3 posts before that and the one you THOUGHT was going to be entered, didn't get entered.
Don't try to game like
"Ooo! I see She-raXDeku got nominated... That's what I wanted to see... I'll make a different nomination post."
No. Just post what you want. That way you know it will be considered.
In closing.
I sincerely hope these new topic nomination terms are amenable or at least understandable/tolerable. If you made it this far, THANKS SO MUCH for sticking with me.

Side Note: Under the new nomination system, might it make sense to make the genre hiatus stuff last less long? You would still have Doc going "there's been a little too much video games lately" or similar.

Gotchaš. Sounds better than what we have now, since I trust Doc to choose the best of the litter before we vote. Because I'll say this as respectfully as I can to the other subs here,....but I just don't have the same taste as y'all lol. These pairing choices for the past couple months have been stone cold for me. (especially in the Prelims)š

HowardHam, Booty Doc, Thank you for the clarification! This new voting system is great, because it gives more freedom to Doc choosing what he likes, still the community has the final decision. In addition, it makes the voting period shorter, because there will be only the nominations and right after that the topic poll (without the preliminary).

Patrons will still be voting on what topic gets worked on, its just what topics will actually be available for us to vote on is what's being taken out of our hands. No more Prelims. No more Hiatus List (not confirmed yet but kinda makes sense, its sorta become obsolete with the way the new system works)

True but that would require Doc to put that as one of the 8ā¦and I donāt know if youāve noticed but getting doc to do something that benefits himself can sometimes be like twisting his arm lol. And I mean that with all loveā¦.but sometimes Doc puts too many people before himself. But Iām still willing to roll that die on Docs Choice and see how it plays out to. I just want to make sure he has a roadmap for getting his ideas on the board. :-)

Doc's Choice can still be a thing. It's just that he can do whatever he pleases in that instance instead of it being limited to whatever we provide.

After thinking about it a bit , I have a questionā¦this version almost makes āDocs Choiceā moot. If you (Doc) end up having an idea that youād like the group to vote on would you be open to including that as one of the eight? Almost like āDocs Referralā.

No nominations will be lost, but Doc will ignore it if the topic is on hiatus or if somebody tries pulling weird crap like underage and incest.

Once that nominating period is over, Doc will go over all of the nominations and select eight that meet all criteria. There's no more "Seconding" and it doesn't matter if your in the first 25 or not, so long as nominate before time is up.

Yeah, I understand that you have to nominate within the nominating period. I indicated that if you nominate after approx. an hour of the announcement of the nominations, you are already over 25, so your nomination is lost.

There's always a deadline for when you have to submit a topic or vote by, so as long as you do it before time runs out, your topic is just as valid as the earliest bird.

So, if I understand correctly, you have to nominate a couple/pairing as a COMMENT (?) (for the nomination post), and Doc chooses a total of eight of every nominations? Also, if someone nominates later in the thread, can their nomination still be selected? (I mean, until now only the first 25 seconded nominations were always selected...So if you were late, you sucked...)

I definitely agree with the new terms. This give more new ideas a fighting chance. As much as I love your work for these monthly comics, seeing repeat couples or at least repeat series have been making this frustrating. Been happy we got something new for this month and last month.

Will we know if subject is ignored. I know I've suggested adult Billy and Mandy, but someone keeps saying that the fan theory that they are secretly both the children of eris the god or chaos makes them siblings. No where in the show or any thing related to the characters says this. It's purely a fan theory
