I do get fast food about once a week. I guess I am getting immune but I cannot abide the kiosk. If someone can't even grunt a hello and take my $'s just forget it. Ugh is right.

I really rarely go to fast food places but at least in my country you get good service and you can actually pay with cash or card in all places

If it makes you feel less frustrated about your experience, it isn't any better in Europe either. Although we don't have Steak 'n Shake, all the rest of the fast food chains are about the same as crap as this one here. Best thing to do is to try to avoid all of them as much as possible, only in case of emergency...
