[Exclusive] Plug and Socket Keychains

I've got something a little different today for valentines day π«£
The "plug" for a lack of a better term is the male part where the two prongs fit into, I recommend adding a bit of glue to make sure they stay put. The socket is the female part! They do have a difference in tolerance sizes of the holes, the plug has a tighter tolerance than the socket, so make sure you are fitting the prongs into the correct part which is the plug
If you are finding it difficult to fit the prongs into the plug its likely just a tolerance issue, try scaling it down 1% if they don't fit and up 1% if they are too loose. Make sure to test the fit first if you are planning on printing many at a time.
I included a plain set and one with hearts. 3MF files included. No supports!
βAs with all of my designs, I strongly advise that the printed models are not to be handled by children under 3 without proper supervisionβ

Ah! That makes plenty of sense! I DO love a decent print in place, no supports model lol! While your ideas get my brain just cooking, I definitely don't have the skill to do that, at least not currently, though I am planning on going to college for 3D design! Also, thank you so much for the compliment! I had SUCH a hard time coming up with a shop name and finally it dawned on me lol. Thanks again for the hard work you guys put into these. I know I sure couldn't do it lol. <3333

Hii! I did consider it! the issue is that the hole where the heart would go would need supports due to the middle dip in the hearts shape. you are welcome to do it if you wish to! You can add a heart to the blank ones and then turn it into a negative to make the hole, then print the heart just a couple % smaller! I prefer not to release models that need supports. Love your name btw

Any chance you'd consider releasing this in a version where the heart can be printed separately as well and assembled after? If not no biggie ofc, I wanted to do them separate colors so badly, but just couldn't justify 42 color changes for a print so small lol. If I were to do a whole tray of them then it wouldn't be that big of a waste to model ratio, but I just wanted to make a few lol. Either way, even if I have to do them in single colors, these are TOO cute not to print!

this would be awesome!

That's a good idea; I hadn't thought of that. I wonder if a bar magnet in the female end would work, i.e. attract the two bar magnets oriented 90Β° from it. I may have to add some bar magnets to my next Amazon order...
Chris Wisneski
that would be a very small magnet. However, you can buy bar magnets about the size of those prongs on amazon, so maybe scale the plugs to fit, glue them in, and put a single magnet (i.e. standard 6mm round one?) embeded in the female end at the bottom of the sockets to mate with them?

Any chance of a UK plug version?

I bet magnets in the tips of the prongs and in the socket would make this fun fidget, that snap when the magnets engage is always satisfying. π€
