Death should have played along. Maybe Death was just jealous that you were the one killing it.
When I was a teenager my youth group went to Six Flags Magic Mountain during Halloween. There were a bunch of employees dressed up in various costumes, as you might imagine, one of which was guised as Death itself. Well someone told me I should sneak up behind Death and my arms around them and say "Death, I have you in MY grasp". I did. They weren't happy about it. That's my story.
