Announcements: New Art Style (and CT Shorts!)
🕑 Added 2021-04-01 23:11:25 +0000 UTCWe're thrilled to announce a new artistic direction for Changeling Tale:
CalArts!
Polls show that the artistic style made popular by such animations as Adventure Time, Gravity Falls & Steven Universe better resonates with our audience than the highly detailed, fully shaded art we currently make.
Going forward we will be converting all existing, lovingly rendered assets into the new style. General Irrelevant, who made all these mockups, will be assisting in the conversion.
Here are some examples of the design changes. From left to right: Jessie, Grace, Marion, and Malcolm.
We're also excited to be working in tandem on an anime adaptation of Changeling Tale.
To complement the change to an animated style, we've decided to go all in and launch a series of animated episodes called Changeling Tale Shorts!
Nocturn3 has already generously begun storyboarding the pilot episode. You can check it out, attached!
We hope you all are feeling as "animated" as we are for these thrilling new developments! Big shoutouts to both General Irrelevant & Nocturn3 for their outstanding work that made it all possible. Happy April, everyone! Let us know your favorite designs in the comments!
