Art Book - What Would You Like To See?
🕑 Added 2023-01-17 13:12:18 +0000 UTCThe Changeling Tale Art Book is beginning to take shape! Among the illustrations, we'd like to include some short articles explaining "behind the scenes" insight and lore, such as:
- Why we chose 1919 Scotland as a setting
- Origins of the game's earliest concepts and art
- The inspirations behind each of the girls' transformations
- Our thought process behind Grace's redesigns
- Sneak peeks at upcoming romances and story arcs
What other specific things would you like to see? What other questions related to Changeling Tale's development would you like us to answer?
Let us know, and there's a chance it will make it into the Art Book!

I will admit that I hadn't thought about that, I had only swept under the rug the information about Malcolm's parents, with me just considering them to be distasteful people, and besides a single image of the mccloud's mother, there's not a lot that we know about her except her being dead and that her kids are I would assume all three changelings, actually, now that I think about it, I'd love to know what happened to the original, human children of the mccleads if they were switched with the changelings, unless, depending on who you decide to follow the story of, it changes who the singular changeling in the family is, though I'd like to think that it's all three of them being changelings and it's just depends on who Malcolm focuses his subconscious magic on that they awaken their true nature's.

Might be a bit late to the party but I second Shadow's idea, I'd love to see younger and older versions of the sisters; general glimpses of how they were before CT and how they might end up beyond the scope of the game. Just ideas though, I understand that the team is crunched.

What about some of the what-ifs already drawn like here on Patreon. Especially those that show "what if this character had a transformation?" While not canon I assume there's a character/story reason you think they would have that form.

We'd love to, but with the launch window fast approaching we may have to rely on the material we've already drawn-- of which there's plenty to fill several art books!

As fun as that sounds, given the time crunch to get everything done, I don't know if we'll have time to draw new and special artworks for the Art Book. We'll mostly be focused on including the material we already have on hand, of which there's enough to fill several art books!

Here's an idea: can we get artwork of each of the Sisters aging designs by 10 years increments? (Age 20, 30, 40, 50, etc.) And show them each with a pregnant artwork for the backers copy?

Another thought, maybe a link with the book for digital wallpapers of the girls/characters. Thank yβall for the great story and hard work, currently on graceβs story mode.

I wish i could post a pic on here but. Like a police line up/character spec sheet. Have each one side by side comparison with measurements from human form, to each transformation stage. That might take too much room depending on the characters but its a thought, maybe have Malcolm on the far side for comparison reference.

May already be in the book, but seeing alternative forms of the sisters or even Malcom would be neat, like wolf Marion or Lochness Jessie or even as animals that weren't used. Maybe have art of side characters who didn't have anthro forms in anthro forms that you'd think might match them.

Maybe say what the alt ideas you had for things that never went anywhere? Or maybe show other directions you did plan for, or think about going with or messing with for the story. Or not, and say it might be future content for the game. :P

Oh, I do so absolutely love "Behind the scenes" stuff. Previous design iterations and acknowledgement of what worked and what didn't, notes about how design influenced the story and how story influenced design...I'm certainly looking forward to seeing everything you put into this!

Honestly, I'd find it very interesting to learn why the development team shows 1919 as the essentially era for this story, because I'm honestly quite interested to see why the development team shows a time right after one of the most brutal wars in human history for a TF story, with magical beings, and admittedly quite horny beings at that. Although, there is the credited fact that it is a very touching and heart string pulling story.

Apart from Grace, most of the designs carried over pretty closely to their original iterations, but we'll definitely include whatever we can find!

It might already be planned to be in there but I'd love to see the really early incarnations of some of the girls, the setting. I vaguely remember wat showing some old OLD concept stuff through his stream a little a while back!

How about a small commentary for different arts? Something like "While making this a wasn't sure of this..." or "This one was fun to make because of..." or "Here is used a different technique for this one. I felt..." Something along those lines.
