Grace's Chapter... 5?!

Not only is it Changeling Tale's biggest chapter to date, but it earns that record by almost a factor of two! That's why we split the finale's release into two parts, with the first part currently available to patrons in Early Access and the second part about to enter Alpha.
Well now that the finale is written in its entirety and we've had the chance to read it from start to finish, we've decided to take that decision to split it one step further and label the two parts as different chapters. Grace fans rejoice: we're happy to announce that Grace's finale will stretch into a Chapter 5!
Don't worry-- this decision doesn't change the scope of Grace's story line or impact the game's release schedule! It's just a matter of labeling and structure which better reflects the work that's gone into Grace's finale and better fits the story's beats. In this new structure, Chapter 5 will begin where the Early Access Build leaves off. We hope to release the Beta Build for this new chapter soon!
As this will now be the first story line told across something other than four chapters, this is a golden opportunity to address our approach to story length! When setting out to write Changeling Tale, we were determined to make it a character-driven visual novel. Each story within the game would delve deeply into the featured characters' development and show their transformative journey from start to end. In some cases that journey may take three chapters to complete; or in Grace's case, it takes five! It's not a reflection of favoritism, but a dedication to not cut corners nor be constrained by arbitrary limits.
We still have eight more romances planned after the MacLeod sisters' stories are complete, and each one will feature a unique, fully fleshed out journey told across any number of chapters. With your continued support, we can't wait to add them to the game! Thank you all again for making it possible, and we hope you're excited for Grace's upcoming finale, now officially her Chapter 5!

That's the full planned scope, over the course of three major arcs! The MacLeod sisters (and upcoming character Rowan) constitute the first arc, and then Malcolm will find himself in the Fae World for the next arc, featuring lots of new (and some familiar) characters!

Most everything has been written and coded (just part of the last of three endings to go), but there is still a fair amount of art to be done. We'll be able to export a Beta Build for our Beta Testers while we are wrapping up the art, though! We hope to have everything finished in time to polish and launch the game before the end of the year.
