Elegoo Jupiter
🕑 Added 2021-08-16 15:39:56 +0000 UTCSo Elegoo finally announced their Jupiter printer 12.8 6k mono screen. Slightly shorter in build volume height than the phenom.
I should have my hands on this in the upcoming months.
Honestly not a huge fan of the Kickstarter approach but I understand from a business standpoint of validating a product with real buyer orders before going full swing in production. Early bird pricings are also really dang crazy.
Hopefully Elegoo can keep putting pressure on chitu to get that whole board situation sorted.
Really damn excited to see how many options there are these days for small/midsize/large resin printers! And it’s a mono screen! Seriously my only complaint about my phenom is how quickly it’s screen can die and the print speeds.
What do y’all think?

Well, just do the math. Calc the build volume on both printers based on the XYZ specs given, and it seems like the Mega is substantially bigger. But yeah, that early-bird pricing on the Jupiter is really attractive. If the shipping isn't insane, then I might pick it up anyway.

I should have a few mega videos up soon 🤘🤘 it for sure should have a larger print volume but excited to see/hear more about Jupiter

I might be unboxing the ultra this week

Yeah I can only assume from a purely product/market validation standpoint

I agree. That whole debacle was crazy

If using KS can help avoid the scalper problem, I’m all for it. But I like printing helmets, costume pieces and props. The Mega might be a better fit for my needs, as it looks like its build volume is 80% bigger than the Jupiter?

Woow Nice!

They will announce the link 'soon' apparently

When can we back this?

I'm certainly interested in it, especially for the price. I don't mind the Kickstarter aspect since it's Elegoo, and we're familiar with their products and services.

So torn with this! I like what Elegoo do, I can see a larger printer could be good for some things, and I can see it would be a bargain at $600. But why, WHY kickstarter? I just don't get it for established brands. So many of these 3D printer campaigns have issues and we get shafted. I swore never again!! Also, in practical terms this thing would eat resin and its not that cheap in the UK!!

Anycubic is also doing a Kickstarter for their Anycubic Photon Ultra. I can see individuals starting out doing these, but not already established company’s. Yes definitely will reserve at the 600.00 if can snag one.

I agree does look good and seems like great spec. But why do a Kickstarter. I would of thought elegoo have a enough clout and followers that would buy directly.

We'll need to be on our game once this hits the actual market since scalpers will be a problem once they release it it'll be a repeat of the Saturn.

Im just hopeful for a front power button and front USB

I am excited to see more competition in this size of printer.
