Layer shifts 🤮
🕑 Added 2023-02-09 14:31:12 +0000 UTCAttempting a huge print with the Max & a new Prusa slicer profile for the .6 nozzle which I’m 99% sure will work great. However have had 2 layer shifts on this big 2 day print. Driving me a bit nuts.
Added a small lift z which will hopefully alleviate any scraping that might have caused it to shift
Went back through and added more support contact points for the new tree supports.
Any other tips for avoiding layer shifts?

Tight balance between belts being too tight or too loose. I have reduced my layer shifting by slowing my travel speeds. Time savings from higher speed is lost when you have to restart the print. Good luck!

At this point, since I had it apart, I decided to do some upgrades to the machine. I just find it odd that using the older version just the day before all good switched to the new alpha version this issue appeared. Just thought it was an odd coincidence.

Yeah, I’ve had zero layer shifts with the max until I started using Prusa slicer. Although I’m having no issues with the Pro or the Plus neptunes + Prusa slicer.

Thanks! Will double check that!

Check the tension on your belts. A loose belt might slip and cause layer shifting.

I just saw this and have to tell you I've had a similar issue with layer shift on a non-prusa printer. I added Z hop but it still happened multiple times. I took the machine apart and all look fine. I am beginning to think a slicer issue perhaps.
