Melting Filament into Silicone Molds!

I’ve seen a bunch of peeps on tiktok melting down filament scraps into a skull mold off Amazon
So I grabbed one along with a few other molds and testing it all out.
Also wrapping up a print of my own 3D Printable mold box that I will attempting to pour some silicone in later this evening 🤘

I've been wanting to learn how to take 3d prints and cast them into metal and resin. Especially resin since I do a lot of customized computers

Yeah! Same I really want to go deep into it next year and start making some complex molds/casts. But love the idea of printing a mold box that I can use over and over again

Interesting... Not that I doubt your skills in making molds, but if you ever need to chat about them (printing or casting) I'm more than happy to chat. I work for a animation company that prints molds and some of things I've learned might be of use to you too?

Can't wait! I've been wanting to do molds of prints for a long time. So that I could have copies and make them out of other materials.

PLA, resin + silicone I’ve heard = a bad time but will be testing that out next week. Haha fingers crossed it doesn’t leak 🤣😂🤘

Is the mold printed in PLA or resin? Would the silicone leak if it's Pla?
