[Update 1.2][Skyrim SE] Vanargand Animations - One Handed Power Attacks
🕑 Added 2021-10-21 22:56:34 +0000 UTCMan this took more time than I expected, finding a consistent balance between my job and my animating hobby has been quite the challenge so far, hopefully it'll get easier as we go, nevertheless, I'm happy to finally bring you the one handed power attacks to wrap up my first take on replacing one handed weapon animations.
These animations will replace, While holding a one handed weapon in the right hand, the power attacks while standing still, walking or running in the 4 directions. Next up, I'll be working on the SkySA version.
This is the vanilla replacer version, to be used as is, or to be placed in your folder structure of choice (Nemesis PCEA, Combo/Stances Animation Framework, etc...)

Use any mod manager or manually copy the content from your chosen attached file's 'Data' folder into your Skyrim's 'Data' folder.
Animation Motion Revolution is required, and serves to give the character custom motion data while attacking.

The knockdown animation itself is vanilla, however, the parry and knockdown behaviors are from "zxlice BackStab and Parry SSE - Script Free".

Oh good to know what happens behind the scenes! It's so minor anyway, as I said, and I only caught it because I was trying to take a screenshot of a sword.

Ah the infamous twisted wrist, unfortunately not much can be done about that at the moment without substantially changing the animation since it happens whenever a certain hand rotation value is surpassed, even though it is still within a natural range.

Hello again Levi! Thanks for the awesome mod. Just a minor issue that's more for screen archers, but it seems the wrist is twisted when doing the Left Power Attack. You can see it here: https://i.imgur.com/PzgLEbr.jpg

Aside from Mofu's, I'm not sure there are any other grounded one handed attack animation sets that don't use SkySA, I'd also like to know if I missed any. Without AMR, I wouldn't be able to control how the character moves while attacking.
It's sad to hear that. I really liked the one-handed weapon movement animations and the simple attack animations. Can you tell me where to find something similar? There are very few good animations for one-handed weapons (without SkySA, DAR and the like). Those that I found seemed to be taken from anime series and absolutely did not correspond to the spirit and atmosphere of Skyrim. Seeing these animations, I thought - this is what I was looking for. But alas. For SE only. Do they really look that bad without this mod? Sorry, I'm not good at mods for SE.

This requires Animation Motion Revolution, which unfortunately isn't available on LE.
