To each it's own but the english dub almost always lacks the depth the japanese has. It also sounds overplayed, as if the characters are constipated. This is specially the case with Dragon ball Z (kai in english is great though). Nothing to do with being a weeb, it's about watching material as close to the original intentions as possible. Anime in english often feels off because the very expressive style of storytelling and animations does not suit the english language as well as the japanese. The way the japanese behave, think, speak and express themselves has it's own internal coherence that feels right as a whole.

I know I am a month late, but I would advise you all go and rewatch this episode, or at least the final charge in English Dub. Erwin's English Voice Actor is amazing.

This is the other episode that always makes me cry, no matter how many times I watch it. And I'm never ready for it... ever I also dislike this image that Erwin has of himself.. that he is a bad person and a liar unless he's pure.. He's not allowed to want anything for himself, or he's a bad person. He didn't like or con any of those cadets. He told them the truth. He just happens to be one of those speakers who could lead anyone into battle for them.

Yeah the inconsistency with the size is one thing that I find out of place here. On paper Eren's titan is about 12-15 meters tall, while bert's is 60 meters, so he should be somewhere near colossal's knee.

About size differences they are kinda inconsistent. If you go back and look at the shot where Eren is pushing Bertholds leg he would easily fit through the door next to him while in other shots he in one height with the roofs. However it makes you get into Erens shoes seeing it that way. From Erens pov all he sees is this massive leg and looking up there is more titan than sky. So the size being inconsistent isnt all to bad imo.

Lol, this is definitely a favorite episode of mine, as well as many others, I'm sure. Erwin's speech in this is his best, in my opinion. The chills I get as he's leading the charge towards their demise, knowing that he's giving up the dream that he's worked so hard for, simply to be the symbol of strength, bravery and leadership for the terrified scouts who gave their hearts to the fight. It's unbelievably powerful. And then the 'RAGE, SCREAM, FIGHT' lines? Whew! As always, this was a wonderful reaction and commentary from y'all! I can't wait to load up the next two! Thank you!

I've always fought against the weebs that insist on listening to anime in a language that they don't understand. Japanse voice acting is just plain wrong. Armin sounds like an 8 year old girl in Japanese, and that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

You guys should totally check out the English version of Erwin's speech. It is one of the rare occasion that hearing it in a language you know is that extra layer emotions.
