While thats true, Reiner seems to have briefed them and informed them on what he learned on his mission, and Zeke could corroborate. They had the knowledge that these humans literally went head to head with Titans on the regular. I always saw this as him just being so arrogant as to think that none of that applied to him and he was somehow special. Like "of course Reiner is going to get bodied by humans, I hate him so therefor he sucks".

The reaction you guys had at the to be continued. This is the energy AOT gives. This episode really puts the question for people is it justified to retaliate on civilians. Let’s remember Eren is doing what he thinks is justified. But is an eye for eye really the way? We’re getting into moral/ethical questions, rules of war ect. Let’s also remember tho. Eren is like 19-20 at this point too. He’s a really young guy who has only ever known war. Is he mentally capable of understanding any other path. It’s all he knows.

No ones ever innocent, especially in the world of AOT. But the innocence in my eyes is knowing the right and wrong and sticking with whats right. Now he doesnt really care, its just the path he chose and it can be bloody or peaceful, Eren would rather take everything by force the way it was done to him, continuing the cycle

For a first time watchers, it is very normal to react with more excitement to scouts, who they were watching for the first 3 seasons and grew to love. Plus they commented on horrible reality of war during the review. After You watch show few times the reaction is different.

I wasn’t “insinuating” lol just matter of fact. They are exited by Eren’s violence, and they are not questioning really that much. It seems to me that they are assuming that the protagonist is automatically the one to root for, I guess. And since this is a first time reaction in front of the camera and on top of it the first anime they have seen I feel like that many nuances are a little lost in favor of the us vs them habit.

It's really not that big of a deal. When we saw these, we got them one at a time and we still managed to enjoy them just fine. "To be continued" just makes it more enjoyable when you actually do get to watch the next episodes. Binging has really ruined our ability to wait and be patient for things.

They forced an entire group of people to survive by killing titans, and then they have the audacity to be surprised that they became good at it? No sympathy for Marley.

Love the reaction, but theres a problem with yalls theory. If a successor doesn't inherit a titan power from somebody then the power gets sent to a random eldian that has yet to be born. That is also why the Marleyans were so worried about killing Eren without having a titan inherit the power. They would have no clue where the power of the founder went.

The way porco is so shocked at how the "mere humans" were charging at him, a Titan, is never not satisfying. These "devils" were forced to defend themselves bc of people like Porco. And even tho the loss of innocent lives is always a tragedy, our guys got at least a little bit of revenge.

Fun fact, if one of the 9 were to die with out passing on their Titan to someone else, the power will be inherited by an Eldian yet to be born. So Eren and armen couldn’t end the 9 in that way. That is also why magith says “we can’t kill him, that only delays the problem. we need to have the warhammer eat him.”

In season 3 episode 21 in the letter she tells Historia that it won't be long until she dies. Historia then gets a glimpse of Ymir in chains like when Eren was about to be eaten earlier in the season. Then in season 4 episode 2 Galliard talks about seeing the memories of his predecessor and how she returned the Jaw titan to them which is only possible with him eating her.

Great reaction however the theory that Eren and Armin can eat all the other Titans and then just die doesn't work. The reason why it doesn't work was explained in a earlier episode where it was noted that Titan powers simply get redistributed randomly to new born Eldian baby if/when someone with Titan powers dies instead of transferring their Titan by allowing a newly created dumb Titan to eat them.

Porco ended up eating her, so she’s dead now. Ymir decided to go back with Reiner and Bertholdt last season because she understood what they were going through and wanted to help them out. If she hadn’t, they would’ve completely botched their mission by failing to retrieve the founder and losing both the Female and Jaw Titan. Now the only losses they had were two warriors (Annie, Marco), and one titan (Female).

One of my absolute favorite scenes in all of AOT is the ending of this episode when Porco(Jaw Titan) is faced head on with the Scouts and he says “You’re kidding? Can’t you see I’m a Titan?! These guys are just humans, yet they’re coming to kill me?!” It always makes me reflect like yeah to someone who didn’t live the life of the Scouts have had to it’s absolutely crazy to have a human fight a Titan, especially a Titan shifter head on. Even their own people within the walls think they’re nuts. The visuals and the music, it’s so good. The Scouts all coming and surrounding Porco, it’s like devils would be one word for them lol. Like I know that the Warriors (Titan shifters) were told of the Scouts but this was the moment when I knew that no one in Marley fully understood that the Scouts were truly killing Titans head on, even with what the world might consider “crude technology” cause no one fights the titans head on. But the Scouts while they may have fear of dying, they always know when it’s time to lock in.

Also, they just announced that they’re combing the last few episodes and releasing it in theaters with better animation. Nice brainstorming guys keep writing down those predictions! They did mention earlier on in the show that the nine titans get reborn in an unborn Eldian after they die; as long as it isn't passed on to another person via chomping. Marley was able to keep the titans in their power by making sure that the successors were ready to take over before the expiration date arrived!

There is some great subtext in this episode on the ease at which a nation can justify atrocity against another people when they feel that they hold the moral high ground and are justified in their actions. The thin veneer of separation from responsibility and morality when those acts will be committed in lands far away and against the "right" people. The pride and self-assured confidence of a people as they make a declaration of war from the safety of their borders and condemn their enemies to die. The naive thinking that only those responsible will pay the price and innocents can be spared during times of war. The arrogance to believe that the violence will stay far away from home. This episode asks the audience a simple question: What level of atrocity is justified if the "world" (read: your nation's world and way of life) will be saved? To what lengths will a people go to secure their future against a world that hates them for who they are? Hated not for policy or economic interests, but merely for the crime of being born. "Why!? Something you guys said at the end which I want to correct. Don't worry this isn't a spoiler, it was explained in season 3. The 9 titans won't end if a carrier dies without getting eaten, the titan will be randomly passed on to an Eldian baby yet to be born.

THIS is the episode I’ve been waiting for. I think how they’ve handled the war hammer is genius. It’s power is so ridiculously overpowered however it’s greatly combatted by its exceedingly vulnerable weakness. Legit just snip that cord and it’s done.
