I didn’t know this. Props to her for sticking with it. I’m sure she was contractually obligated to stay on the movie and it would’ve been too late to recast but still good for her.

One thing about this was that Lupita was deathly afraid of cats before filming this, and they told her the animal had to be a cat and there was no exception. So she did a lot of cat 1 on 1 therapy and actually got herself a cat because of this film and now she loves them. There is an interview about it is a good watch
