So I finished the series. And no spoilers but I immediately followed it up by watching the Netflix movie, and I had heard how bad it was, but holy shit it's probably the worst adaptation I've ever seen. Probably even worse than M. Night Shyamalan's Avatar movie. That Death Note movie is 100+ minutes I'll never get back.

That’s entirely a personal preference. For me, subs take me out of it because I don’t get to hear how the actual English words are emphasized and inflected. People are just different.

It really doesn't. It sounds more real than the Japanese. Even Japanese speakers admit that anime is exagerated and people don't actually speak like that.

Glad you are enjoying the show. Wanted to let you know that Tetsurō Araki, who directed season 1-3 seasons of AOT, also directed Death Note. Based on a YouTube comment, he didn’t direct the whole series, but most of it.

@Fajar I don't know if they'd necessarily need to watch Dragon Ball first. I only ever watched DBZ and feel like they cover the lore pretty well.

If they decide to watch Dragon Ball, they should begin with the original series to grasp the lore and the Dragon Ball universe.

Something like that, Abridged has only about 70 episodes I believe, if you count all the 3 part finales.

Hey fellas! Love the Death Note reactions. I would like to recommend that you guys check out Dragonball Z Abridged after you finish this series. I believe the humour in it will be right up your alley plus the show Dragonball Z is definitely a must watch. The creators of DBZ Abridged are always very supportive of reactors checking out their series!
