Good news: Ted Lasso season 4 is currently in production

As other have noted, Pep is the coach of Manchester City. He was prominently featured (as a player and coach) in the video that Beard put together to introduce “Total Football” to the team after Amsterdam.

I also held off these two last eps for a while cause I’m not ready to say goodbye… such a feel good show with real gems of moments which move… I absolutely teared up a couple of times… I also agree that the writing is sometimes very real, the balance between comedy and real life relatability reminds me of Derry Girls. Another show that perfects this balance (and I might even say does it better) As others have pointed out that was indeed a real manager… Pep Guardiola who is considered one of the greatest managers of all time… he’s been at City for almost 10 years and before that Bayern Munich and Barcelona… he’s pretty much won everything with his clubs and he’s the blue print for modern football management and considered an absolute genius… a lot of the players who he has coached have themselves gone on to become managers… he’s very much a coach with a philosophy. Going with a heavy heart to the next ep now just because I don’t want the series to be over.

I put off watching these two until later today..I'm not ready!

They played with ten men because Ted didn't want to pull Jamie from the game. If he subbed another player in to take Jamie's spot, Jamie could not have returned to the game later, even if he felt fine to play on. It's like in baseball when you send in a pinch hitter, the player who the pinch hitter is replacing in the lineup can't come back for the rest of the game.

Yes, Pep Guardiola is the actual manager of Manchester City, and he's widely regarded as one of the greatest football managers of all time. He's sort of the Bill Belichick of the English Premier League.

Not to mention, among so many other things, his mom is literally named Dottie - which is a nickname for Dorothy.

What I originally thought was happening between Ted and his mom, was how all of her stories about Ted's childhood -- ALL of them -- were changed so much as to not be about him at all anymore. It wasn't just small embellishments, they were straight-up false ("he sang so good at a friend's bar mitzvah that some people said he was better than Bruce Springsteen" is a friendly exaggeration. "He actually sang WITH Bruce Springsteen" is just a lie). I thought the final reveal would be that this was crushing to Ted's self-esteem, because he never felt he could measure up to this fake son that his mother always talked about. I then thought it would be one of the reasons for his hyper-positivity, because he felt he had to live up to that fake image his mother created. It turned out none of that ever came into play, but that's where I thought it was going. Jamie Tartt is the only person I know who managed to get with BOTH of his teenage crushes that were on his wall! And let's not forget Van Damme's AMAZING playing during this game! Completely shutting down Man City when Richmond was down a player is nothing short of miraculous. He won that game almost single-handedly!

Pick up on the Wizard of Oz references all throughout the series? First episode - “We’re not in Kansas anymore”. Dorothy realizes she’s landed in Oz (a strange place). This episode, playing the Wizard of Oz pinball game, with spiraling house. End of Wizard of Oz, Dorothy says “There’s no place like home.”
