New scene added to Chapter Six and a competition!
🕑 Added 2022-11-07 16:17:54 +0000 UTCSince releasing Chapter Six last week, I've been getting some feedback and lots of questions about how to access the new bonus scene with Bridgette.
The key to gaining access involves arriving at the bar as late as possible. That way you can 'rescue' Bridgette from some otherwise unwanted male attention.
The additional scene in the bar was in itself a nice little bridge in the story. It was created to allow a realistic pathway to what can happen next at Bridgette's apartment.
It also allowed me to give my virtual self a brief cameo in the scene...
However, the problem was that the only way to arrive late enough was to play through the full bonus scene with Jodie first.
Playing the bonus in the gym is no bad thing, but it did make the narrative pathway a bit too limited for my liking.
I'm all about diversity and choice in the pathway structure of my games.
So over the weekend I've made another short bridge scene which allows you to spend another 30 minutes before visiting the bar.
You do still need to consider your choices in order to ensure you don't get to the bar before 8:00pm if it's the Bridgette bonus scene you are looking for.
The new scene addition means that you no longer have to play through the full bonus with Jodie anymore, but you do still need to at least visit the gym.
I'm sure that you will be able to figure out the rest.

What's in the new scene?
With everything that occurs during your time at the Academy, you are going to get hungry right?
This short extra scene gives you the option to fill your belly before continuing.
This gave me a great opportunity to introduce another character at the drive-thru.
Long time players of the series may recognize her from her appearance in the old 'Date with Bridgette' episodes.
Effectively this is a teaser appearance before her real introduction during what will be Chapter 11.
You can use this as an opportunity to find out her name and maybe flirt just a little.
Building the scene and creating the uniform took a long time, but I think it was worth it. I've given just enough transparency to the pink top to compliment her perfect cleavage.
Get your timing right and you will arrive at the bar from 8:00pm or later and get the opportunity to 'rescue' Bridgette.

COMPETITION TIME!
It's about time I gave away some more credits to my incredible patrons.

I think he did say he was going to take some time to fix up these issues with the website a little while ago, so I'm guessing they're making changes which might show up like this? My saves are also a bit funky in that regard. Hopefully there's an update soon

I’m still having a problem with my game. I would send you a screen shot if I could. Basically, after completing a chapter and moving to save the pink pop up with Valentine won’t close, and any progress I made is lost. I’ve played through chapter 4 so many times, yet I only have one save. I’m not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but it’s seriously affecting my gameplay.

The combination of HTML, really detailed production notes and direct access to my own website is great in terms of being very flexible and responsive to updates and modifications. It's also one of the reasons I down like downloadable games. Implementing an update on a live website is pretty seamless. Correcting for example a broken link or a minor spelling mistake on a 3.7gB download is more of a headache. Downloads are obsolete as soon as they are downloaded. I'm building in lots of ways to turn negatives into positives during this whole remake process. I'm currently working on making Chapter Eight have a much less linear pathway to potential success with a few additions and modifications.

That's one of the things I like about the HTML games which is that in theory, additional scenes can be "easily" added at any point. This allows for certain negative options to not be negative at a future date (ex: Laura & Amy dancing in Chapter 2 or Megan's shower scene in Chapter 2) or additional branches can be added at a future date so for example in the bar image included in this post, speaking with Caitlin isn't an option in Chapter 6 but it can be an option in the future if so desired or doing something with Alexia in the bar within Chapter 6 could be an option in the future.
