January website updates
🕑 Added 2024-01-16 21:50:45 +0000 UTCSince completing work on Chapter 13 a few days ago, we have been spending some time on a few more website updates.
Much of this is quite subtle and involves a few minor changes to the functions and appearance of some pages and modals.
There have also been a few small narrative continuity adjustments based on what I have planned for the future.
The main technical update has been to address some issues around the cash machine/ATM sequences in Ch10, 11 and 12.
The new update should eliminate a problem which was introduced when I added a second option to withdraw cash at the end of Ch11.
There is a little bit of tweaking still to do, but the main problem of jumping from Ch11 to Ch12 has been fixed.
Fortunately it appears that this has only occurred for a small number of players.
It does very much highlight the importance of reporting any issues to me though.
Without such great support from you guys, this project wouldn't be any where near to where it is now.
If you haven't done so already, I highly recommend clearing your browser cache before you next play any of the chapters to make sure you get the updates.

Two year anniversary
Next week will mark two years since launching my Patreon page.
I'll be reflecting on that a bit more in due course, but what a journey it's been!
I have a few things planned to help celebrate.
2024 will be when the Academy story finally reaches Friday. I'm very excited about Chapters 14, 15 and 16.
I have occasionally also hinted at my plans to continue up to about Chapter 20.
That's well into the weekend, and I'm excited about that too.
I have plenty of new ideas and a huge amount of new material that will go into continuing the story. I'm sure that there will be a few pleasant surprises along with that.
2024 also marks ten years since I released my first ever game.
I'll probably get hopelessly nostalgic about the 'Tara Trilogy' when the time comes.

For now though, it'll be back to working on Ch14 and some more website improvements and upgrades.
I also need to bring the walkthrough section up to date, and create the character profile pages for the website too.
It's a very long list of things to do, but I am relishing the prospect.

Thanks. The Tara trilogy was definitely the start of a very steep learning curve. I think I was just about finding my feet by the third part on that one.

I love the Tara trilogy! It’s still a favorite of mine. It’s interesting that The Academy is as successful as it is, considering it’s a spin-off.

Hello No, there is not a downloadable version of the game. Because of it's size and complexity, the game relies on a connection to user accounts and a data base for the continuity from one chapter to the next. The scoring, achievements and basic functionality wouldn't work offline. Any downloadable version would have to be much smaller and simpler.

I started work on day five back in 2020 after the DwB episodes, as a continuation of the story. There were already well over 4000 images created for that before I went back to the beginning and the remake and update process. The basic structure and plot hasn't changed much since I originally started work on it, so it's all useable. The last two years of remaking and expanding the 'original' story has allowed me time to really develop all the aspects of what's to come. I have a bit of restructuring and technical stuff to complete for Ch14 and I also have a large part of Ch15 created already too. There are a few scenes I want to add but it's not too far off. Realistically, I think that most of this year will be all about completing the Friday episodes.

Thank you for making this series and for being so responsive on here! I was curious about something, in an old post you said you had already done some work on day 5, prior to remaking days 1-4. Are you still able to use that work or has too much changed since then? Thanks again!
