I think the wings convey a lot of body language. More closed, protective in the image, and open and confident in the sculpt. I reiterate: the sculpt is wonderful, but it *is* a different feel from the artwork.

The girl in the artwork looks like a teenager a litle frail. The sculpt is a mature woman really confident. Also wings are too simetrical and open in the sculpt. They look a little unnatural. I like her better without wings at this stage.

I think it's also because she's more skinny in the artwork and the wings are smaller. The wings also have a different shape.

It really is a beautiful sculpt, but there is definitely a different feel from it. The original image has a sense of vulnerability and fragility that has been replaced with more confidence in the sculpt.

The face and hair style are totally different with the original image. :(
