I haven't read any of the Mage stuff, and I'd need to read Mage: the Awakening 2ed before I felt comfortable including them. Not saying I won't do that, just that I haven't done it yet. MLV's story end goals and ending is mostly finalized, but the journey there has a lot of malleability, so including some mages is perfectly reasonable if I can figure out how to include them without spoiling the thriller/Gothic feel I aim for.
