Elders as old as Antoinette, Jacob, and Lucas (very rare) are definitely likely to stay put, where their dens, nests, and power structures are firmly established. But other elders, like Garry's age, have been known to drift from time to time. That's how Maria and Michael came to Dolareido.

That’s probably a story for another arc. I think an Antoinette-level vampire coming for a visit would rock the entire power structure, and that visitor would need a FAR better reason to leave their affairs than simply sightseeing.

En vogue with the Toreador? I felt that when White Wolf created the Daeva bloodclan for Requiem, they took the Toreador from Masquerade, adjusted them slightly, and gave them a sexier name. So, yes. :)
